  1. Hi Hannah Unfortunately its true about AHPRA not recognising a diploma trained nurse The situation may change in future, plenty of nurses are arguing the case anyway. There are options to try and do a top up degree etc, dont let this stop you from gaining PR though. You wont be able to work as a nurse with AHPRA but you can still apply for PR.
  2. Hi pumpkin, when I apply I will be a newly qualified nurse, ther fore I have no work experience points 15 age, 20 English, 15 degree. X
  3. Hi, that's why I was worried about waiting two years for pr. Going as a single parent I'm terrified I will break a leg or something silly, I just want pr ASAP at whatever cost before I can really relax.
  4. Hi, I have no option other than 489 either as I will be over 40, I was considering applying for regional sponored pr after 12 months on the 489. 12 months working in oz is 5 points, then 5 for the sponorship. Would that be possible?

  6. So now im worried? i finish my degree in nursing 2016, and because i wont have a post grad in pharmacology i wont be able to register?
  7. Get you pr for yourself and younger brother ASAP before he 18, your other brother could get a years working holiday visa so you can all enter the country together then get yourself a lawer when there. Much better to be in the country arguing his case to stay?
  8. Great idea to hire a tutor, do they have an appeal process at all? At least then you might get some feedback. The only thing I can suggest by looking at your writing, is don't use slang words ( I'm sure didn't in exam though). But other than that I'm supprised you keep failing. Good luck though xx
  9. I think that children need their mothers, he doesn't realise it now. From the outside looking in, I would say let him go and work out for himself he wants to be back with you. But as a mother myself, I wouldn't let that happen until he was 18 xxx
  10. Hi all, I'm feeling a little worried about the future of international nurses in australia. I'm worried that by the time I qualify and I'm ready to fly in 2017 that nurses will no longer be on the sol list...? reason for this, is I was reading an article that the projected number of nurses expected to retire was lower than expected due to economics. This means new graduates are struggling for work. If that's the case could they stop nurse immigration? Any thoughts or ideas?
  11. Hi, I'm in my first year still. I qualify in sept 2016 and will 40 in nov 2016, so I'm guna be low on age points. I'm just desperate to get there and start the rest of my life and career. I'm considering trying to get a 457 as after 12 months I will have enough points for pr to apply my self. Gamble as I will have a 5 year old.... Any other ideas lol? OTE=BritChickx;1936523944]Aside from me and Stacey, is there anyone else at the start of their studies? I've got 4 years until I qualify as a nurse now, that's quite depressing!
  12. Hi there, I'm also planning on emigrating as a single mum. I need to finish my nursing my degree yet it so it won't be until 2018. But I really hope you start to settle in and stay, it's an amazing country . If it helps, when I was 21 me and 2 friends went to australia on a working holiday, we were so lost and not really getting into it in the beginning, we came up with a plan to fly back and hide in London for a year so we didn't have to admit to people we came home lol. But that idea soon went and we started to have fun and enjoy the lifestyle. I myself am desperate to get back I really hope you settle in xxx
  13. Wow, thank you for the replies. I've lots to learn about this process I see... Thank you all xx
  14. Hi all, I'm currently studying to be a nurse and want to move to oz ASAP after I qualify. I'm trying to sort out the timeline in my head, the way I understand it, I will be able to have English test, medicals and police check ready in time for when I qualify, which will be in the sept. i will still be 39 in sept but 40 in November, from what I understand, if I'm invited to apply after I send an eoi before I'm 40 I won't lose 10 points, however once I hit 40 I will lose them. is it possible to send eoi before the sept, for example a few months before? thanku all
  15. Oooooo wow, sounds interesting, I hope start to get placements like that..
