  1. We moved from UK to Sydney last year. We used Crown removals. Really good service. It was based on volume rather than weight, so I measured out roughly the size we would need and ordered that. After, we got a refund from Crown as the final volume was less than we ordered. A bonus was that we didn't need to pack anything, they turned up and boxed it all up, packed it really well. In Sydney they would have unpacked it and taken all the boxes, but we just had it stored in a friends garage, so they left it all in the boxes. They did unpack and rebuild the bikes. We didn't have any furniture, but lots of records, books and kitchen stuff. We sold all our tv/stereo equipment and donated a lot of stuff to charity after having a clear out. One good tip, bring over some UK extension sockets. Then you can just change the plug to a Aus one and use all your UK gadgets with UK plugs.
  2. Hello, I haven't posted much, but an update for people on here. I got me 309 Visa granted on Monday 20th. 8 months and 13 days. Applied on 7th February. I did send an email to the case officer the week before, as me and my girlfriend were flying from Chile to Australia on the 20th, checking on progress. Woke up that morning to get email granting my visa. Good timing. In Oz now, saves trip to NZ. Also, if anyone needs some extra information that may be of use, we left the UK where I applied and went travelling in March, so I got a police check arranged and did a medical in Panama in June. All worked out fine. We applied for everything online and all correspondence was via email.
  3. Hello, We did have a direct email to our first caseworker. We got an email in July, saying our caseworker had changed. In that email, I was to reply to a general email address, but with the client ID details in the Subject. It then gets redirected internally to the right caseworker. Hope that helps anyone.
  4. Thanks Also, how do I add the dates of my application to the signature like other users? Can't seem to find the option.
  5. Hello, I am British and my girlfriend Australian. We applied online for the 309/100 visa on 7th February. All police checks, medicals etc completed. Was just wondering what timeframe people had been given if applying for similar visa? We got told 8 to 9 months when we first got our caseworker, but looking at the automated reply when emailing the case worker it says 10 to 14 months? Rather than bother the caseworker I thought I would ask the question here. I did search around, but couldn't find anyone in a similar application time as us. Thanks
  6. I haven't found anywhere yet. What I am trying to find now is somewhere just for storage and shipping, then ship any clothes etc we need in a box separate.
  7. Hello Me and my girlfriend are moving from London to Sydney next year. We are going to go travelling on the way for six months, then staying with my girlfriends parents for a while until we get jobs and find a place to rent. Therefore what we need is shipping from London to Sydney, with storage in Sydney. But we also need to access the storage when we arrive in Sydney after travelling to get some more clothing etc. Then keep the storage for a time until we move into our own place. Has anyone done this and has any advice? Either on who to use or if its possible with one company? I've done some research online, but not found anything that covers this. Thanks
  8. Ah. I was presuming it would be a sticker or stamp in the passport. Thanks for info.
  9. Me and my partner are going to apply for my Australian partner visa in February. I am from UK, she is from Oz. We will have been living together for one year by then. When, and if, we get the visa, can it be picked up in another country? We want to go travelling as soon as possible after receiving the approval, to South America. I can't find anything online about this. Thanks
