  1. I have solved this problem, details to be released when payment is made:-)
  2. What is leeds like? Not for living but as a business district. They mentioned last night about 28k people from Harrogate commute each day.
  3. Plenty of Aussies and Kiwis find England home and decide to stay. So its horses for courses. What ever and where ever you get happiness take it.
  4. We came with a set time frame in mind but never an intention to reside permanently. Enjoyed the time we had and still have a few years before we depart. Our specific time frame was for the primary/secondary education but returning for the girls tertiary. Work wise Australia has been a real back water, but rather than complain its opened a number of opportunities I have capitalised on. Guess people need to focus more on the journey rather than look for a definite end destination to resolve all life's problems. Rather than criticise peoples decisions how often do you support them?
  5. Will he need the credit card inside?
  6. Rather than focus on buying initially, start by looking to rent and build your foundations. Without kids I would make the most of a small flat (saving up for your initial house rather than rooms not being used). Have you thought about due north of London and catching train down? or due south i.e. Crawley/Brighton. Guess it depends on part of London you are commuting to.
  7. Take out a decent life insurance policy on them. Be brutal the odds are better than the pokey. Sometimes blunt gets better traction. If not for themselves, for the unborn, it should have a chance to see grandparents.
  8. I would be keen to hear about great places to live in semi rural settings.

Any recommendations in Lancashire for semi quiet village with rural aspect? What cities would a (non daily) 2 hour commute include?
  10. So these people who reported because they thought it was a truck are going to have big problems when they realise they live next to a main arterial route Just saying:wink:
  11. Yes that would be the place http://www.langleycastle.com/index.html
  12. I remember attending a wedding at a castle near Hexham Fantastic part of the North
  13. Think this reflects higher stable costs:cool:
  14. Changing from Rick to @rick Not sure when he became a Rick but has always been a
  15. Might be the other non base salary items as expressed above "pension" or "super contributions". It could also include items such as vehicle/housing/clothing/CPD allowances
  16. Was told the women walk around the supermarkets in bikini's and thongs. Now found out its the guys who walk around topless and the women should not be wearing string bikini's in the water let alone on land.
  17. Looking at purchasing a company in Artarmon and currently have offices in George street (Suncorp tower). Looking at map a house in Hunters Hill looks good location being around 12 mins to either city or Artarmon What are local thoughts? If it a good area to establish a home that will be used in conjunction with the Victorian home? I am alternating each week between 3 days in Sydney and 2 days in Melbourne, with following week 2 days Sydney 3 days Melbourne. I am just done with serviced apartments and hotels. In 6 months the travel should reduce and I can decide which city to be based in so the alternate property/house can be used for rental/investment.
  18. Brisbane beaches are shite, you are more talking about Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast which are one hour and 2 hours respectively away from CBD. Melbourne has beaches within 20 mins of CBD be they bay beaches, 50 mins and you are on the great ocean road. You need to balance with employment and education.
  19. Southbank 101 Collins street 140 William street 500 Bourke Street Exhibition street (corner with Collins, cnr with Bourke) Glenferrie street Malvern or hawthorn High Street Armadale St Georges road Toorak Mercer road Armadale Central Park road Malvern east Kerferd road south Melbourne
  20. Depends on area of Melbourne But for example St James street of Brisbane is like Chapel and Toorak streets South Yarra, High Street Armadale, or Glenferrie road Malvern and Hawthorn. Work wise the CBD is one of the easiest working environments to work in.
  21. Family arriving mid Feb looking for executive 3 bed short term apartment in St Kilda Road, South Yarra area budget $400+ per night - Needs to be executive (i.e. not central equity quality) - Pool and parking (1 car) - 4 to 6 weeks (while they secure longer term accommodation in surrounding Toorak/south Yarra/Armadale areas) They have or are looking at the Olsen on Chapel street so any other recommendations would be helpful Apparently the Quest does not have 3 beds? only 2 beds
  22. You might need to provide some details on work?
  23. Like it would be smart practise to shoot offenders but is illegal:wink:
