  1. take some advise and fast. Sounds like it was handled awfully and unprofessionally - you cant give someone 30 minutes notice and not allow them to explain things...I would get a solicitor fast....you might be able to argue unfair dismissal and certainly as a minimum get all your entitlements... good luck
  2. We are going to rent to start so it's a 'safety net' bolt hole in the event things don't go to plan, the OH doesn't want to commit "forever" so we are keeping it on for eventualities.... We've have one rental valuation via foxtons but they want to charge 17% management fees for the place....seems very high to me but maybe not??
  3. Thanks Prozac, we went to freshwater one day and it's a lovely beach and seemed a nice area also....! Just too many to choose from...1st world problems....!!
  4. Don't panic! (Easier said than done) we all make mistakes and it's how you deal and learn from them in my opinion that's important... Don't assume anything, ask for a chat with your manager and express your regret and concern if you want to, explain how you feel and ask if the error really is the end, deal with fact not conjecture as it will be easier and better for you to deal in reality not fear... Bear in mind you have 5 months, 3 weeks perfect service track record also, stay strong, be true to yourself and you'll be okay, good luck and I hope it's viewed as a learning opportunity by all involved.
  5. Thanks abz, we had to replace the front head of our one recently as it stopped working!! Will likely buy a new one if we can get at a good cost and take the 'relatively new' head over also for a spare as it's only 3 months old....the cleaning of the dust container would be easy but our builders used it last year and it's never been the same since
  6. Just found this thread so will add a new Dyson to the shopping list....thanks all...!
  7. Is it best to just buy a new dyson rather than bring our current one ( which is now 5 years old?) or wit till we are there and buy one there?
  8. Will be interested in your experience also. I'm in West London so will be keen to see if regional differences apply also....
  9. Will do, will share it all once I have the quotes and the details...
  10. Got 5 companies coming in this week so looking forward to the process (not!) and making a decision!
  11. Thanks, gives an indication!
  12. Can someone point me toward the costs of car insurance and other costs of running a car. I will have to buy a new car when we get over the (looking at the Hyundai Santa Fe) so would appreciate if someone could advise total costs that will be incurred....?!?! Thanks!
  13. Anyone used Doree Bonner? They have been recommended butu i have no experience of such matters....
  14. Hi, almost one year later and plans have changed, going over to set up an office on behalf of the Company that purhased mine last year so its all change and different route taken.... good luck with your path
  15. took the recommendation and wasnt let down, many thanks! The ribs and steak combo was superb! the only let down was being ripped of by a taxi driver (which in fairness isnt the restaurants fault!) would recommend for a nice meal without being "exceptional" or top end... Aria was "nice" but left me wanting more so for that reason Im glad I went but wont be racing back to it - the food was lovely but..... I cant put my finger on it....it left me uninspired I suppose...!
  16. Just back from 4 weeks there and loved every minute of it, now able to visualise the areas and put pictures to the suburbs and roads....all makes mouch more sense now!
  17. Just back from 4 weeks ther and agree with NSP, all lovely areas with lots to offer - we favoured Pymble, Wahroonga, West Lindfield and Killara but anywhere along the train line was "lovely" and had more pros than cons (with the exception of lask of pubs!)
  18. we are planning on renting our house out later this year so thanks all for the information
  19. Any developments in the locality? :err:
  20. thanks for the ideas... ahve thus far booked Aria near the opera house and thinking of "wildfire" also, potentially there or Jonas in Whale Beach...

    Sky TV?

    just following for future reference!
  22. not a bad guess.....if only my real "investments" had been so clever!
  23. Thanks NSP - much appreciated, we have a friend who currently lives in Pymble and they love it so it’s top of our list of areas to look at next month (very close now....yippee!), just interested in independent views also and will also check out local suburbs, to be honest we will know so much more in a month and can’t wait… We will be looking for a 3 or 4 bedder if we can stretch that far (anticipated earnings will be c$130k - $140k plus super), again will know more when we get back and look at how much it all costs! Our two children will be just 5 and almost 3 when we arrive in late summer (UK summer) 2014 so the 2 catholic schools are important factors also (will be on a 457 and paying anyway) so will check them out (appreciating the fact that they’ll be closed for holidays!) Thanks again and see you over on the other forum in the New Year!
