  1. Is it as straight forward as that? We have been together but not for a while and both traveled extensively but often separately. Do you know what visa code this would be please?
  2. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question but if someone could confirm the answer then I would be most grateful. I now have a girlfriend who can qualify for residency but this would be an option to explore and I'd really like to know if I could ask to have her added or would I need to start the whole process again? Any help is very much appreciated. Chall.
  3. I'm pretty sure you have 12 months to validate your visa which can be done with a holiday trip and then you have 5 years to move permanently. This is how it worked for my 190 but ask your case officer for the specifics of your visa when one is appointed.
  4. There's some great help here so a big thank you. I'm heading over to WA in August but as I am aware primary jobs are over-subscribed, as in the UK, I'm going to look at teaching remote to start with so I can earn my stripes and then hopefully move to a metropolitan area after that. If anyone has any info on teaching remote, I'd be keen to hear. I am aware that it is anything but easy!
  5. I think it took me about 2 weeks to hear back from WA then maybe another month or so for a CO to be appointed. I think it does depend somewhat on what priority they have on your profession???
  6. Thanks for this. I thought I had read somewhere on here you could start the application after 2 years??
  7. Could anyone please tell me how long I have to be resident in Australia before I can apply for citizenship and a passport please? I have PR but haven't moved yet and presume that the clock will start once I am actually residing down under. Any help is very much appreciated! Chall.
  8. Lefroy Road markets are great on a Sunday for fruit and veg at good prices. You'll love Freo!
  9. I can't speak for vetassess but my teaching assessment with AITSL has an expiry date on it. Would it be in their FAQs online somewhere? good luck with everything.

    Bacon

http://www.rivercottage.net/forum/ask/processing-and-other-crafts/saltpetre-for-curing-bacon/ Amazon seem to sell the stuff too. Hope this helps!
  11. Fair point. For me though it seems more about the density of populations than numbers. Too many people crammed into a little island in the UK. I find driving in Perth quite a pleasure as people don't seem to need to speed everywhere although a few more traffic islands wouldn't go a miss.
  12. Manly North Head, Oxford Falls or over the other side of the Pittwater from Palm Beach if you're on the Northern Beaches mate.
  13. That's exactly what my mate in Roleystone said. He's from Birmingham and thought Armadale was a holiday camp by comparison!
  14. Thank you very much for the help guys. I can't wait to get over and knowing that deposit amounts are lower is a real help. All the best!

  16. I'm just about to move out to Perth. What sort of size deposits do banks ask for on mortgages in terms of percentages? I've been led to believe that they are considerably lower than the ridiculous 20 - 25% you often need to stump up in the UK. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  17. Good darts dude! It's such an an feeling right?!
  18. I did this in the summer to sort my 190 out and had confirmation from DIAC that once the visa is validated you have 5 years to get back. You could go from arrivals to departures without leaving the airport but it seems a shame to go all that way and not have a holiday! Good luck with it all!
  19. I just stayed out a Roleystone and whilst Armadale seems to have a rep, I have mates there too. Roley is a beautiful place but few rentals although can't say I looked at other suburbs. Good luck either way!
  20. Mate, get up to the world cup. The parties are wicked and as far as the bike goes, run dry chain lube and slicker tires. PM me for full geek low down! Just get your foot out and go flat out!
  21. There's also a world cup race in Cairns next year which would be worth a weekend trip away I reckon.
  22. Find the local shop and ask about. They probably have a shop crew or club that you can tag along with. I'll be in WA but that's me and my mate have done and people welcomed us with open arms. It's also a real blast to ride trails that are predominantly dry for the year!
  23. It's ace getting that e mail bud! Good luck dude!
