  1. Good luck with all this! It sometimes seems like a lot of red tape especially when visas have been granted. My forms are all in now and yep, it's non practising for thos eof us who haven't taught in Oz or NZ. Good luck everyone!
  2. I don't get it either because they have said they're not really fussed but won't process my application any further at the minute and that's just the qualifications check. They will take more money of me and let me apply for non practicing because that's all I am eligible for at the minute. I understand AITSL being picky because their check is for migration purposes but I thought that would be it for checking. Still, I'll do what I have to. Onwards!
  3. WA have said the transcript I provided for AITSL isn't good enough and lacking details. It's costing me another $500 and all that is really missing is a few details like my student number. They've said that a signed letter from the uni saying that what I have is all they give out will be enough to carry on my application which is all very frustrating. I actually want to go remote too and they're crying out for people to do it. It's all a bit frustrating as casual work seems to be hard to come by at the minute. Chin up though!
  4. I'm sure you will do just fine! I'd love to be bricking it but this splitting of hairs is getting rather frustrating! Anyway, we'll see what happens. Shouldn't be too far away.
  5. Has anyone else on here been frustrated when trying to register to teach? I have a PR visa and AITSL certificate and now WA have decided that my PGCE transcript is not good enough so I need to contact my university for another even though the first one was good enough. I am desperate to start work and am finding casual labouring jobs or anything else hard to come by in Perth. Any thoughts anyone especially in regards to where I can get some work to tide me over? All the best, Chall.

  8. What state has your occupation on their skills list and do you need a job offer? I'm a teacher. I had no job offer but have come over on a 190 visa as a skilled independent. Good luck with it all bud.
  9. Thanks Sammy. This si the form I found under the 'overseas teachers' section: http://www.trb.wa.gov.au/SiteCollectionDocuments/Form-Request-for-Qualification-Advice.pdf Any ideas or can I just got for provisional registration?
  10. Hi guys, I'm moving to WA in 4 weeks and need to get registered with TRBWA and wondered if anyone can help me with the process please? Do I need to I need to apply via the 'Request for Qualification Advice' form because I was thinking that my AITSL pass certificate would have been enough. It seems daft that I have to be assessed all over again! Any help is greatly appreciated!
  11. Thanks for your help everyone. Food for thought! All the best!
  12. Secondly, are all Move Cubes inspected? Customs will struggle to get everything back in mine because I got a medium when I should have had a large!
  13. Has anyone used a Movecube and paid the premium insurance? I just can't see it's worth it because they talk about the 'self packed' nature of them so to my thinking they would blame me if anything was smashed up and say I hadn't packed things correctly. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on this I'd love to hear them. Thanks in anticipation, Chall.
  14. Always so much WA bashing! Seems such a shame I am migrating to Freo in a few weeks and my stuff is getting shipped tomorrow..... Maybe I'll cancel my visa and not be surfing the Cott and Margaret River..... Sacasm intended!
  15. Cheers bud! Bloody hell these customs forms are fun.... Not long now!
  16. Cheers Bob! Any advice is greatly appreciated. Just been cleaning everything up but can't wait! Need to try some fly fishing too. Had a few bass at home recently on the fly which has been mega and the odd makerel Straight to the barbie too! Cheers again guys. You've all been so helpful!
  17. Tonyman, I'd love to meet you up mate. I've seen you on here and you're always a voice of reason!!! I've washed everything down with disinfectant and the movecube is coming Thursday so here we go! It's summer here so everything is super aired and dry. All I have do now is fill the forms in and get ready to 'squeeze' things in! SO EXCITED!!!!!

  19. Once again the PIO community prove to be worth their weight in gold. Thanks loads for the help and advice. I'll give her a good clean and might head down the launderette. Some of the guys on here have restored my faith in internet forums and made this migration experience so much easier (and cheaper!). MoveCube on Thursday and flying in 3 weeks. Excited doesn't even come close!!! Take care guys and thanks again. BobJ, I'll fish for anything mate. I hear there can be good perch fisihng iin WA but I'm really looking forward to getting on the beaches too.
  20. I have seen and heard plenty about the rigours that things can be put under when shipping your stuff out to Oz but I have a good tent and want to bring it. I'm going to disinfect the bottom of it but is that enough? Has anyone got experience of this and if so, please drop me a line! I'm also looking to bring some fishing gear. Any help is greatly appreciated. All the best, Chall.
  21. My best mate was on it last year. He even managed to blag the BBC to extend his ticket if he paid for his own accomodation for another few weeks! Love the show!
  22. Awesome photos! I can't wait to finally move over later this year and these photos have made me even more impatient!
  23. If you're scoring enough points then start an EOI which is free and can be done here http://www.immi.gov.au/FAQs/Pages/how-do-i-lodge-an-expression-of-interest.aspx This will show you the way forward hopefully.
  24. I was awarded a 190 last year and will try to help if I can. I did my own application with some great help from people on here. I don't think that there is any gaurentee of a visa but I don't think you'd be invited after an offer from the state of your choosing. You can sit on you visa for five years after validating it which requires a trip to Aus to activate the visa. With a 190 you will need to sort jobs yourself. Otherwise, start your EOI and go for it I guess? I'm no expert but hope this helps.
