    Was this directed at me? So when we arrived at the Perth office to hand in the visa, spoke to the customer service agent at the front lobby, then subsequently received the 820 visa via email, that our application (and therefore our visa) is invalid? I'm sorry but to say something like that about something so personal as having my husband be able to stay in the country with me is very flippant.

    Yeah it is pretty straight forward as we had to submit all the same sort of stuff for the PMV. PMV is a Prospective Married Visa, it was an offshore application when we were engaged. It took almost 9 months to receive. We were still a little concerned cos hubby has a minor offence in the UK.... he was very upfront and wrote a statement about it etc. We didnt post, we dropped ours in the dropbox at the Perth office... I recon you might have your money taken out in about 2 business days if mine is anything to go by... so I think you will be OK with the end of your WHV... You still have all next week (minus Monday) + a couple of days for them to do their thing.

    Hi Hallie, I'm replying to you again We applied same day in the Perth office so hopefully we can find info from each other! No money has been taken from our account yet.... Let me know when payment has been taken for yours! Are you guys married or defacto applicants? We're married and also coming from a PMV.

    Thanks, ABL275. I think you get caught up in the details and when it comes down to be almost time to submit, panic sets in! I really do think we have quite a bit of evidence and paperwork, but the control freak in me thinks that its not enough. I actually think its TOO MUCH evidence and paperwork, but better safe than sorry. Luckily I am the organised type! Our paperwork is covered in green stickers, as we finish each section the green stickers come off... tonight there will be only a couple of green stickers to go

    Yeah I sort of thought it doubled up on a lot of the info. I think we will wait. The case officer who reads my husbands extensive travel history will love going through that!

    Quinkla, thanks so much for your calm reply! Once I read through both the replies I felt at ease. I just want him to hand it in now, financially we have to wait til the 20th Jan.. But I'm ok with that now. We are genuine, we're not involved in people smuggling etc haha... We are just 'worst case scenario' people and we didn't want to be punished for leaving it so late into the 9 months. This probably comes from having bad experiences with customer service at the Perth office. I will stop worrying and get my last stat decs from my friends. Do you know if he will have to submit form 80?

    Hi guys, (Worried rant below....) My hubby's PMV is coming to an end (very quickly!) - it will expire on the 1st Feb 2014. We were married end of November 2013 so we have been waiting til after that to get all the rest of our evidence together. I think we have a pretty strong application and quite a large amount of evidence, I'm not worried about that. When we travelled around the US for our honeymoon my man carried his UK Police Certificate just in case as he has a juvenile offence. On our return to Aus we seem to have lost it... ergh! Anyway, we are putting in an out-of-date UK and out-of-date Aus police Check - we've got conflicting info on if we need to put them in at all - so we think the old ones are better than none. I think its best if we just go ahead an apply for new ones this week... and send them in to Immi after we apply if we get them late... I have some questions: -Do you think willingly putting in old police checks will make the application invalid? I'm having a horrible thought that they will flick through the docs and say "we cannot accept this application as it is incomplete".. this is probably irrational, but because we are close to the end of the PMV I am worried.... -Do we need to include a Form 80? One Immi checklist I found says yes, at the top of Form 80 I have at home says 'fill this form out if requested'...? -We think we will be able to hand in the application on the 20th Jan (waiting on some statements and stat decs from people), do you think 10 days to process will be cutting it too fine? (Theres a public holiday within those 10 days too... Oh and we dont want to do the online application..) -Can you tell me how many days you had before the end of your PMV when you applied and when you got notice of the bridging visa? (And then even when you got notice of the 820) I'm not stressed in any way about the time it takes to get the actual 820/801 (well, you know, it would be nice if it was quick)... I'm just worried (knowing our luck) that he wont get his bridging visa in time for the 1st of Feb! I think these irrational fears come from the PMV processing where I was half expecting to be rejected (there is no reason for this apart from my neurotic personality.....). In essence I just want to continue living life with my hubby and to not be stressing about him being out/in Aus!

    Good luck with the process kmarees1986, my fiancé has a juvenile conviction, which he had to explain from start to finish in a statement, and explained how he has changed. He also had another conviction on his UK criminal record that was a mistake. It took us weeks to clear up the mistake with a lot of back and forth with UK police etc. the stress of that, and the stress of having to apply for the paper 676 so he could come over to visit was exhausting. It's terrible to think that a mistake he made in the past put his future in Aus at risk. He is now here in Aus on his PMV, but the conviction follows him- he was questioned and made to wait at immigration when we came back from activating his PMV. I hope everything is okay for you guys, especially with the baby on the way. Good luck with it all!!

    Alan, it makes my heart skip a little when I see you are from Geelong! I am orginally from Geelong, and the fiance is from South Yorkshire. We are having a bit of a tough time in Perth at the moment (as we both arent from Perth!) as the fiance can't get good work and we've been stressed with money/house situation etc. The fiance hasnt been happy for a while, he hides it well but he makes a lot of mention about moving 'back' to Geelong. Of course I would LOVE to move back to Geelong (purely to be near my mum)... but I think Perth is the best place to be work/money-wise right now. He always mentions that visiting my mum in Geelong makes him feel 'at home'....which would fix a lot of his problems right now. I just dont know if its worth giving up what I have here and going back to Geelong just so that he can have a sense of 'home'.... I'm not opposed to moving back to Geelong.. or moving to England... its' funny that you popped up whilst thinking about moving to the UK and the word 'Geelong' popped up.... Sorry to derail the OP, but the whole point of me searching the threads was the idea that moving to the UK for a year might make the fiance realise why he left in the first place... seriously considering it... and hopefully some others have had the experience...

    Arrived offshore Wednesday night, had breakfast in our hotel on Thurs morning and thought we had better get the wifii password and maybe check fiancé's emails... And there is was, his grant!! about 4 days shy of the 8month mark. So relieved its finally over, and now we can relax on our little holiday before wedding madness sets in when we return home! Congrats to all the others in the same boat, and especially the October applicants! How exciting! Now excuse me while I go drink another cocktail by the pool ​Yyyaaaahhhhhhh!!!

    Hi, sorry about the late reply- things have been crazy since getting notice to go offshore! We leave on Wednesday night, so we can't wait to have a little celebratory holiday in Bali before coming back and getting fiancé's work organised etc. anyway, to answer your question- my fiancé's tourist visa was due to expire on the 6th April, we emailed our CO to let her know we could be offshore after the 6th and just wait offshore. That was wishful planning as it was before the 8 month mark. She told us it was 'unlikely' the visa would be granted in april - So fiancé extended his tourist visa. 8 days after (on his birthday no less!) he got the email to go offshore! this sort of tells me that the COs literally can't tell when the grant will be possible until maybe within one or two days... Otherwise she would have stopped us from having to extend his tourist visa (more paperwork etc) if she could have predicted that 8 days later he was ready for a grant. I can't be too excited yet- we don't actually have the visa yet- but hopefully by then end of this week I can't join the club! We are also SO SO excited to be able to properly organise our wedding!

    Woohoo Kirkhoffmann! How exciting, and a bit early too! We are off to Asia in 2 weeks to receive the grant - needed to clear the last-minute leave with work! My boss knows all about the 'going offshore' situation and she was also shocked that it's happening early!

    CONGRATS LUMAINOZ! I was waiting for your grant haha.... Now I just need to get me and my fiance's butts offshore so we can finally say 'visa granted'!!! Keep your eyes peeled September applicants!

    Like 7 months and 2 weeks - looks like we wont be going offshore for about 2 weeks, so it will probably be exactly an 8 month grant! If we could go tomorrow (fiance wants me to come and I need to let my boss know!) then yes, it would be a 7 and a half month grant! SO so excited, wish we could go today!!!

    Here I am reading the forum, thinking.... cmonnn 2 weeks lets do this!!!!! So it's fiance's birthday yesterday so we had nice relaxing day, I took the afternoon off work, we had cake etc.... didnt check his emails cos we were taking it easy....... Go in there today.... and there it is!!!! The email to tell him to goo offshore!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are SO SO excited to go offshore and get the decision, but we also need to work out some cheap flights to go to Bali/Malaysia in the coming week or two - there's a public holiday next week so flights are VERY pricey! we just want to go TODAY!!!!!

    Hey hotspur, welcome! I'm a Septermber applicant too - my fiance applied on the 4th of September. We have had no word yet, but we are really hoping for an 8 month grant (start of May). Really looking forward to the day when I can post on here saying "visa granted!" hahah so far, not yet!

Could we eliminate the need for the user/number passport by getting an australian agent to lodge the online claim - I would assume they would have an agent login section...? We may have to call a tax agent today and see if that's possible... Thanks again

    Hi guys, my fiancé is here on a tourist visa at the moment, and has just received the paperwork from his UK employer for this past tax year. He wants to know how to go about claiming the tax return ASAP as he needs the funds. His family in the UK checked with the tax agency in England, but they wanted to know all the details of his permanency in Aus - obviously he is not a permanent resident as he is here on an extended 6 month tourist visa. Will he be able to access the return? Can he do it online? Or will he need to go to H&R block here in Aus or something and get a professional to help?

    Patiently waiting...........................For the last of the August applicants to be finished with their grants :wink: Hopefully I can gather some more September applicants (maybe some that have been silently watching!) over the next few weeks on the thread so we can keep each other updated...... Our visa grant (8 months will be the 2nd of May as per the spreadsheet) coincides with my work wanting to make me a permanent employee (which will mean a decrease in pay!!) so I am very, very stressed. The visa grant can't come quick enough - one income isnt a struggle right now but it will be with this new role. Had my interview at work today, fiance wants me to come offshore with him for the grant at short notice, need to consider the pay drop.... there's just too many things going on.

    Hey GreatDane... you had your medical yet? I would suppose you need to do it soon... I know other September applicants that are waiting their grants now and have told by their CO's to expect a grant in early May, so to avoid any delay I would do it soon. Have you heard anything regarding your medical since you last posted?

    Yep, its like "we've done our time, now just put us out of our misery!" my fiance is desperate to start work... he's feeling pretty bad that I have mostly funded him coming back to Aus on a Tourist Visa... Obviously we normally share finances but having me pay for most things for the last 3 months has been tough for him! I'm excited too ... I'm going to be SO excited when he tells me he's 'had the email'. Very comforting to know that you have been told May (and you applied after us)... as we were thinking we just couldnt stand the wait if it was June!!!!! I'm assuming we'll hear something in around 3 or so weeks...

    Hey Bimble Bee - I found your post while I was searching for a 'Visa-Grant Rant' thread (I feel like starting one!) cos I am totally getting fed-up waiting for our PMV. We were told May/June (but most likely May) also, (applied 4th Sept), my fiance is here on a tourist visa (he came because we had some holidays booked and some family commitments to attend together) now he has nothing to do but wait - he is hitting the beach etc while the weather is still good, but the poor thing is bored out of his brains. We are organising our wedding for around the end of the 9 month marriage requirement, but cant really make solid plans til he gets the visa - and people are harrassing me ("why havent you set a date yet" blah blah blah). We currently live in a share house (best we can do on one wage at the moment), so we are desperate to move out on our own (housemates are the laziest, grossest pigs going round!) so I feel like everything we plan starts with "....when he gets his visa" ergh, it never ends!!!! What date did you apply? This is my own musing, but I think the CO's have a bit of an idea - say, like a three week window of possible grant time, but they would never give that away in case of delays (imagine if they told us a date, but it was delayed, it would be like a witch-hunt!!!!)
