  4. Exactly!! Our plans too will be shot to bits, we've already sold up and moved into my parents, the only thing left to do is quit the job! To be honest a grant could not come quick enough. Good luck to you
  5. Coming up to 8 months myself, patience is dwindling at a rapid rate!! Fingers crossed that this week is your week
  6. Thanks Snifter, I didn't think of that! It sounds like I should just wait. Many Thanks Shelly
  7. Hi, just wondering if anyone knows what visa I could go to Oz on, as my visa hasn't been granted yet. There's a few tourist visas and I'm not sure which one would be best. I applied in July so could only be looking at another 65 days maximum but really don't think I can wait any longer! Any help would be appreciated thanks Shelly
  8. You and me both!! Good luck to you, whereabouts you moving to? Are you planning to go as soon as you get the grant?
  9. I wish! We're a month behind you, you must be soon! How frustrating is this just waiting??

  11. I'm awaiting the grant if a spouse visa, applied July, medical next month, but could really do with getting to oz to get my son and hubby settled. Can I go on another visa, and leave when they are ready to grant??I'd really appreciate some help thanks Shelly
  12. Hi all, I applied for my spouse visa early July, been advised not to do meds until October, case officer LG. Hubby's Aussie and us and our son are living with the parents until we go........ Everything sold or in storage already, must be desperate!
  13. Hi Kelly, i sympathise with your situation, I am now an only child following the death of my sister and my parents live 10 minutes away in the car. My dad never visits, he hates going to other people's houses! My mum rarely comes round, both my parents still work yet as soon as you mention moving away they say they're going to miss you being close by! I have to laugh! My parents have been really good about us moving later this year but as we will be moving in with them, I expect this will either make it worse because she's so used to us being there or it'll make it easier because they got to spend time with us before we went.....only time will tell. My dad goes to a club for a few drinks regularly, my mum goes no where other than work and shopping! As you say, they should start living! i hope all goes well for you, you do only get one life, it's not a dress rehearsal and I'm sure they'll be pleased for you deep down, eventually lol! Shelly x
  14. I've included a few photos, I have shredded all our old stuff from previous houses but the bank are sorting out statements from 2007 (only 1 per year!), I've got the mortgage details, loan paperwork, voting cards, electoral role and bills. I constantly worry about it....what if we sell the house and they refuse my visa, what if we don't like it, what if my son hates it.........I could go on!!! What will be will be Shelly x
  15. Hi Tulip, We're at the same stage and it is mind boggling! I have sat nearly all afternoon writing, filling forms and getting stuff together, we've been together over 20 years and still concerned about the evidence. I wish we'd started this process much earlier then I would be more organised, whereabouts are you going and when are you looking at going? And I've read that booklet about a dozen times! Shelly
  16. Oh my god, how awful! Bless you, we didn't have that but my mum wouldn't discuss it for some time lol. She talks about it now but I dread the days leading up to going, I'm pretty sure she'll be a wreck. Like Mojoanna said, it must have been a shock, I'm sure they'll come around to the fact that opportunities like this do not come round every day. I am terrified but excited all at the same time, we're selling everything to go.....mental! Good luck with it all, it'll all work out in the end Shelly
