  1. I agree with others.Make arrangements asap to repay it.It is a loan, its not optional whether your gf pays it back.
  2. Wow Ss you'd deffo get noticed wearing something like that!
  3. Stacey I should mention too, you're better off with cotton or a mix of cotton because it breathes in hot weather.Dont even look at anything made with a nylon mix because it'll just make you sweat heaps.Linen is good too for hot weather.Yes someone mentioned Matalan to me during the week for cheap summer clothing and maxi dresses,so worth a look I reckon!
  4. Might be a good idea hon to look at clothing high street stores here and look under "Petite"!:cute:
  5. Hi,just spoke to my twin in Adelaide, and she told me about this website you might be interested in.She's just ordered some summer dresses and they are cheap!Free postage to Australia.(Its a US site) http://www.zaful.com/maxi-dresses-e_41/
  6. Looks like a great place!Im guessing the house is like tied accomo that comes with the farm?Must be extremely peaceful there, always a bonus in my book! How far is the nearest town Paul?

    Suffocating!

Not that this will help the OP,yes I was young once, and never in my whole life (apart from a mortgage)held any debts, had any credits cards or store cards etc.Debt is usually a choice.
  8. I see amazing night skies where I live.I start work at 6am,and just lately have been looking skywards at 5am when I get up.I can see al the constellations etc and I don't live in the Brecon Beacons or Exmoor.
  9. We have a fantastic Sicilian restaurant in town.Actually we have two, both owned by the same family. One's a café,and the other a restaurant. Both excellent. They were featured twice in different tv shows, and the owner is also a master baker so delicious varieties of Italian bread, biscuits and cakes can be brought from the café.The pizza I've had in the restaurant is excellent too.
  10. PB I reckon you actually live in Birmingham! You seem to mention it a fair bit?
  11. I love the festivals, live music in pubs, cold winters and cosy houses, the gentleness of the land, the canals, the lack of air conditioning needed in summer and being able to have your house open, ease and affordability of travel from the UK,real connection to the country I was born in,not having to water your garden except on the very odd occasion, long summer nights, and short cosy winter ones!Double glazing, cheap car rego(tax)lovely quintessential villages, the theatre, andbeing able to walk pretty much anywhere in the countryside.
  12. Hi all, We moved over to the UK from Australia when my eldest daughter was 11.She had an Australian & British passport. She is now 27,and wants to renew her aussie passportShe still lives in the UK.She has told me she needs to supply her birth certificate and present this in London.(She lives in Cornwall!)Is this correct?

With all due respect Bungo and Shelleybingo, can you take it outside please?:laugh:To the OP,I'm not big on taking out loans or credit cards (I don't have either)but I hope you manage to work out a plan to ease your suffering. What you are going through is always temporary so you will see happiness again at some point. Please ensure you learn something from this, and move on hon.Best wishes and I hope it works out for you.
  14. :laugh:Do you think MR2,that the known whingers on this forum, are really happy with their lives?Generally speaking? I'm not quite sure why someone would leave Australia (and those that whinge left willingly not because of lack of jobs or whatever)return to their beloved UK,and then whinge like hell re Australia?Says a lot about that person I think than the actual country they are whingeing about! I seem to get on with a lot of different races of people from Australians,Indians,Nepalese,Polish, the list goes on.Most people are pretty decent people imho. Maybe the people that move to Australia, don't do themselves any favours if they are whingeing about Australia to Aussies? You won't get much,if any, respect doing that actually. How would we feel if an Aussie came to live in the UK and kept comparing/complaining?
  15. Do you think it depends though where you live in Australia?I had no problems as a child making friends through to teenage years, and early 20's when growing up in the burbs of Adelaide. When I first got married,we moved to a suburb a fair way from where I grew up (I'm british),and although my eldest was at primary school ,the Mums at school were pretty cliquey.Later we moved to a small country town (still within SA)and the first week the kids started school,I was introduced to a Mum,she then invited me round for a cuppa, and introduced to me her wide circle of friends. Those friends are still friends with me today, even though I moved to the UK years ago. There was nothing we could'nt discuss, and we had plenty of deep and meaningfuls!:laugh:I really do feel a close affinity with these friends, and they are more like more sisters. Maybe I just got lucky,I really don't know.
  16. Brooks, sorry I can't help with the insurance but just wanted to wish you all the best on your new lives and a bright and happy future!Exciting times!:cute:
  17. :elvis:Wow that's a very very long time!
  18. Hi,I'm sorry you are experiencing a tough time right now but.....as your husband has already contacted Immi,it sounds to me like he is 100% there is no turning back on the marriage ending.I think you need to accept the inevitable hon,and make plans to return to your homeland. If your husband has already told you he doesn't want to resolve your marital issues, then you need to move on.Best wishes and good luck xx
  19. I don't hate cats, had two myself years ago but now I wouldn't.I do confess though to disliking cats fouling in my garden. Once we moved into a brand new estate. No one had any cats.Within 6 mths, the place was overrun with them.I'd look out my back window and sometimes see up to 4 cats sitting on my fence or in my garden, and loads wandering around out the front. It became quite unbearable at the time.(A good tip to keep cats off gardens (and yes I also grow my own veg)is to peel lemons thinly and spread the peel over the beds,or place prickly offcuts of twigs (holly?or similar)over beds. You can stick wooden skewers in the ground too to deter them but I don't really like that idea too much incase their injure their eyes or whatever.
  20. I got married (2nd time)in the UK.Registry office,a few close friends, one of them made our wedding cake as a gift (super nice!)and as we hadn't planned a "reception"did the same as Marisa, just walked into a nice Italian restaurant,a nice meal and few bottles of champers! No wedding car, just caught a London taxi back to our house.Shame the marriage didn't last (lol)but it had nothing to do with the size or cost of our wedding!:cute:
  21. Hi Dimple1 and welcome to PIO.At the top of the page is a search section. If you tap in Plumbers (I just did)you will find a lot of threads re the trade and stuff you need to know.Hope you find this helpful.
  22. Then I'd go without her!I've been back to Oz a few times when I was married.First for two weeks, then 3 mths last year. That wasn't the cause of our split btw, there were other issues, but I certainly wouldn't not go just because you partner doesn't want to.Life's too short. I've also been down to Cornwall for a week at a time without my OH in the past to visit my daughter and grandkids. Not because my OH refused to go but because I wanted some time alone with them.
  23. Lambethlad, did you try rat poison?(before you got the cat that is?)
