  1. Click on 'Settings' at the top right of your page, then click on 'edit signature' (or something like that!). Hope that helps x
  2. You can upload colour scanned documents instead of certifying them all for the visa application x
  3. No progress on our application so far, it's been just over 8 weeks since we lodged. I'm keeping everything crossed we hear within the next 4 weeks but who knows. I find the forums really useful for asking questions about the visa process or Australia in general. To get the info at the bottom of the screen with your details on click 'settings' at the top right of the page, then 'edit signature'. Hope this helps. Shelly x
  4. Hey, Exciting times ahead! There's already a thread going for us June applicants, have a look at this - http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/213889-189-visa-lodged-june-2014-a.html x
  5. OMG!! Is this the first grant for the people who lodged in June?? Congratulations :-D I bet you're so excited right now! It's got to be a good sign that the rest of us are getting closer. It can't be too many weeks longer (fingers and everything firmly crossed!).Did you upload the Form 80?
  6. Hi Steve, my immiaccount changed to say that a medical was not required once the medical results had been uploaded by the medical centre. Have you logged in to emedical with your HAP ID to check if this is the case? shelly x
  7. I emailed them a few weeks ago and they confirmed you do not get any extra baggage allowance on a permanent visa x
  8. The 12 month contract was what put us off applying for a 190, and the processing times for a 189 seem pretty similar at the moment so we decided to skip the state nomination bit. Fingers crossed neither of us have to wait too long! I'll keep my eye on your thread to see how you're doing. Good luck xx
  9. Wow, that's short notice! Michael had his test in a Migration Agent's office in Manchester, he only took his passport and voucher, nothing else. He said that as long as you are actually a joiner you will have no problems. In fact he didn't actually do any research or prep at all and was still fine. The only bit he was unsure of was a question about explosive power tools, Michael was honest and just explained that he doesn't really use them (he'd also answered the question about explosive power tools in the TradeSET Questionnaire that way too) and clearly this proved to be ok because he was ultimately successful. The test was relaxed and the bloke was also a joiner, he didn't feel as though they were trying to catch him out. He said you really have nothing to worry about. Exciting!!!!!! Definitely let us know how you get on on Monday. I'll keep everything crossed you get a smooth ride xx GOOD LUCK! p.s. A bonus too is that although we were told it would take 10 working days to get the result it came through after just a week.
  10. Hey Steve, Good to hear you've applied for your 190. I applied for our 189 in June so can't be much use to you but wanted to wish you well. Shelly x
  11. Maybe you could call the place you had your medicals? They have the HAP ID numbers x
  12. Hi Saurabh, I haven't heard anything so far, but it's still early days yet. fingers crossed we aren't waiting too long! shelly x
  13. What about sending your belongings as Groupage (I think that's what it's called!). Basically you send it in part of a container along with other people also sending their belongings this way, in other words you share the container. You can use any of the shipping companies who I think come to your home to have a look at what you want to send, estimate the cubic feet and will then provide a quote. Might be worth a comparison?

    CSOL List?

As you sound unclear about what paths are open to you it might be worth getting some initial free advice from a registered migration agent to discuss your options? I got some real good information from Go Matilda based upon our circumstances but then decided to go it alone. It can't hurt to understand your options better?? Good luck with whatever you decide to do x
  15. Hmm, maybe I will do the Form 80 after all. I would hate to think I may avoid getting a direct grant just because I was hoping not to be asked for it. It's worth a couple of hours out of my life and at least it'll make me feel as though I'm doing something constructive! Thanks for the offer of help, I'll be sure to shout up if I need any assistance. Have you submitted your application off-shore too? I'm in England, do you know if the country from which you lodge has any impact upon the time it takes to grant?? I imagine it just depends on which team you're allocated and their current workload.
  16. Hi Renuka, I'm trying my best to keep busy so not to think about it every second of the day! It's been just over 4 weeks so far although I only uploaded the last item of work evidence yesterday, everything is done now. I keep on being drawn back to this forum to see if there is any news from the others who also lodged in June. I am hoping for a direct grant. Did you complete and upload the Form 80? I haven't and I'm hoping it's not requested by the CO. I wonder how long until the first grant happens for those lodged in June???? Tick tock tick tock.......
  17. I Would run your situation past a registered migration agent before giving up. I obtained initial advice from Go Matilda who were very good, it was free and I decided not to use them in the end but to do it myself. The advice was still well worth getting though!
  18. Congratulations! The two dates appear to be relating to the fact that you have 1 year from the earliest of either the PCC or medicals to validate you visa (i.e. enter the country), however you don't have to move entirely within that year as the visa is valid for 5 years. You can move over anytime within that 5 years (as long as it was validated properly within the first). Hope that makes sense!!
  19. When I had my urine tested I was told there were traces of blood and protein. I drank lots of water and was allowed to try again, the next time it was clear. I don't think you have to worry about them testing for drugs.
  20. Same here! Every day that passes is a day closer to getting our visas :-D
  21. From what I understand the form 80 is quite a lengthy form about the applicant that a case officer *sometimes* asks to be completed. People often don't complete it unless specifically asked. I don't know what it contains though. I'm confident it's not instead of the pcc, it's in addition to.
  22. Hi 4kusnik As far as I'm aware we haven't been allocated a case officer yet. We have done our PCCs and Medicals already though as I'm keen to avoid any hold-ups. We're keeping everything crossed for a direct grant! What's your situation? Shelly x
  23. Hi there, We attended for our medicals on the 21st June and they were uploaded on to the emedical system just under 2 weeks later. Since then I can log into emedical using the HAP ID, DOB and family name and can see the outcome of the x-ray, blood text examination etc. In immiaccount the 'recommended' part hasn't changed but the link underneath to the medical referral letter is no longer there and it now states that medicals are no longer required for this individual. Did you do your medicals before you lodged your visa then? If so I think you're situation may be different to mine as I only received our HAP IDs following lodgement of the visa application. Sorry if I haven't been much use to you!
  24. Hi Petals, It's interesting to know you can get a mammogram every 2 years from 40. Is this Australia wide or can it vary dependant upon the state you're in? x
  25. Sorry I can't be any help but I'd be interested to hear the answer. In addition to the Reena's questions are contraceptives available through medicare? Such as the pill or Mirena coil? How much can I expect to pay for these?
