  1. Hi Adam, please see the below excerpt. As I've said my current employment began at the end of the last work quoted. I included my current employment payslips/emails etc but no reference as I advised I did not want to compromise my current position. My current employment is actually more relevant than the previous 2
  2. Again, thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we tried a registered MARA agent and handed over $1000+ but they were terrible. Initially saying we should apply through my wife as she has a degree and then not understanding what her job is. She failed the skills assessment, degree was relevant but job was not. After this they just put their hands up and said they couldn't help. That's when I decided to apply through the RPL route, which I have now passed. I would like some advice on parts of it instead of trying to dig through info on the net. Such as: ACS have recognized 2 of my last 3 employments as skilled, no mention of my current role which is more relevant and advanced than the previous employments. Without my current role recognized I do not fall into the 3-5 years experience. I replied back to ACS to ask why or should I provide further info and got a standard reply " a new skills assessment can be lodged for $395" I lived in Australia for 3 years when I was younger and now with a young family I liked the idea of having a few years down there with the kids. But I'm becoming disillusioned with the whole process and quite cynical that it's just a money making exercise. Reckon it might just be better to buy something down the south of France TBH
  3. Thanks for that, I'll look into it today, wasn't aware that a 489 would give 10 points. Just could be the ticket.....
  4. Unfortunately no, I have a certain amount of trade certifications but not to a level that would be equal to Diploma. This is why I had to do an RPL assessment, I am in the process of gaining an equivalent certificate to diploma which would give me points. However, I would be required to submit a new skills assessment and only work after certificate awarded would be considered as skilled and I would fail the skills assessment...... I really do think we've exhausted all avenues apart from attempting to get a 457 sponsored visa, very difficult to get these days for IT. Also, I don't think I'd feel secure emigrating on a 457 with 2 toddlers in tow
  5. This is how my points would stack up at present: Age 33-39 = 25 points IELTS level 8 = 20 points State sponsored = 5 points 3-5 years work exp = 5 points Gives me 55 points :-(
  6. Not sure if anyone can help, I've trawled the net seeking an answer and have sent an e-mail to ACS but not sure if they will reply. Submitted an RPL skills assessment, got a positive result back. [h=3]Computer Network and Systems Engineer - ANZSCO 263111[/h] Now, to successfully pass an RPL assessment you require a minimum of 8 years experience. However, they take this 8 years away from your work experience for DIAC. eg. if you have 11 years experience, 8 years is taken away(as equivalent to degree) and you now have 3 years post qualification experience. So, in my current situation I can say I have 3.5 years experience(post RPL/degree) which will give me 5 points of the 60 required to submit EOI 5 years experience is required to gain 10 points. Now, I currently can gain 55 points through age/ielts/experience/state sponsor If I wait a year and half I would have the experience for extra 5 points but will lose 10 for my age!! Don't know what else to do at this stage, my wife originally done a skills assessment but failed as she was over qualified(a degree in bio-chemistry) but her job is more management. Might be time to knock the idea of migrating on the head, we've spent the last 3/4 years trying to get visa. If anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated
