  1. The UK court/father can have the order registered with the Aussie courts. I nearly went down this route when my ex-wife took my eldest two to SA. I decided to follow (albeit to Melbourne) hence no need.
  2. try and think about what you care about in your own life and what might be gained from full independence as opposed to what you have got from devolved power as it is in place currently. I'm thinking not much but im on the outside looking in. Talking to the Scottish half of my family they only care the Scottish footy and rugby teams are separate
  3. follow applications straight up with a phone call. Get across your key 2/3 salient points.
  4. give it 18-24 months, there surely has to be some kind of correction.
  5. you will be fine, same as Chardy, 2 trolly's and 2 kids on trunkis...
  6. How about retaking IELTS to try to get 8's across the board? I'd also try to drop Help Desk from anything you submit.
  7. 175 is an old visa, but anyway - I was asked for form 80 by my allocated case officer. Is your agent teeing getting you to fill one out in advance
  8. Lawrence, for a permanent residence visa the ACS (Australian Computer Society) do have a track for recent graduates (http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/7324/Summary-of-Criteria-Oct-2013.pdf) so you MAY be able to get a skill assessment from them, given your age, a degree and then if you can get 8 points form an IELTS test you could get a maximum of 60 points, 5 extra points could be available for regional sponsorship, but I'm not sure how likely this is given your work experience.
  9. as per your previous post did you qualify as a legal exec? That job is on the CSOL. This might help too http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/l/legal-executive.htm

with the job thing, one of the agents I struck a good rapport with (i.e. he returned my calls) said to apply then immediately call. It does seem to be a cultural thing in general though.
  11. my wife didn't need the paper counterpart, she went to the Seaford Office.
  12. I'm fairly sure there are plenty of ordinary workers that have made a few quid too. What about those that Thatcher helped buy?
  13. Is changing ANZCO code goign to help? It won't necessarily help. Did you check your qualifications and experience against this document? http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/7324/Summary-of-Criteria.pdf From the detail you have supplied it looks like your degree is not closely related to your work experience hence needing 4 years. It may be best to hire a migration agent to help you with the finer points of putting in a review of the decision and/or your next move.
  14. I read this on another post, apparently to get through customs a bit quicker, bring something you need to declare that you know they allow such as Marmite and go through the goods to declare queue. We didn't and sailed through customs with 6 suitcases, hand luggage, a four yr old and a; by that point psychotic 2 yr old. (I think it was the that latter that sold the deal!)

<p><p>Hi, of course! For Victoria anyway you don't need to have IELTS or for me ACS approval before you apply, you can tag it on afterwards. As it happens they didn't even wait for my IELTS they granted it with not long after my agent sent them the ACS approval. As it happens a colleague in my office is going for WA and using the same agent, he is having to wait for IELTS and the ACS before he applies, but WA are much quicker than Victoria.</p></p>
