  1. Hi ollie, I replied in the other thread, but I will paste it here too... I had QLD sponsorship approved in December and the invitation to apply was issued almost immediately (18th of December) so i think with a 190 visa, once sponsorship is approved, the invitation can come anytime. Not sure if this is the same for nomination from the other states!

  3. Was going to say yum, koffiemelk! I recently found a lovely one too, Friesche Vlag Goudband... darn, wished we'd tried it earlier! I'll miss that too.... I was contemplating of bringing over some DE coffee myself, but we shall see how much we have in our luggages!
  4. I recently got nominated by Queensland for my occupation. The commitment statement was basically an essay. I didn't even have a title for the "essay", just typed a page and a half of my research that I'd done about Queensland especially the place where I was going to settle (in terms of access to transportation, groceries, cost of living, rental price) and also our lifestyle, how it would benefit our young son and our future family. It took me a whole good day to research all of that, and write a nice essay. I didn't label it To or Dear... someone, I just started my paragraph with "My family and I... blablabla" like as if we were speaking to someone from the govt. of Queensland. They process extremely quickly, as I submitted my supporting documents and got my approval within 1 1/2 hours! Good luck!
  5. Glad to hear the good news on all fronts! Yay for another step done! Our rabies test came back on Monday too and all's been legalised and then it's time to start the import permit process!
  6. I believe that you only need the completion letter with your full transcripts to apply for the 485 visa. Though I'm not too sure about this as I've only just read about this, so I hope someone else can also confirm this! Congratulations on finishing your degree
  7. Hope he's just a little stressed and that it's not pancreatitis (lesser of the 2 evils)! Hope he feels better soon and enjoyed his chicken!
  8. I believe state sponsorship visa subclass is 190 and not 189. I do hope your agent lodged the correct EOI, could you check it with him?
  9. Our girls had theirs 3 weeks ago too and also will be doing the blood test on Wednesday but they are fine, no change in behaviour… perhaps get him checked out in case it's a reaction? Could it be something he ate?
  10. I remember you Jack, and was just thinking about how you were doing lately! Glad to read you have a "plan" and to be honest, I admire your determination! We've had difficulties with our visa process initially but we are determined to go back to Oz ourselves
  11. pomsoutofoz, as far as I know, I have only uploaded coloured scans of our documents i.e. passport, IELTS results, marriage certificate, birth certificates etc. and they were all accepted fine. I believe that the certified copies are needed if you send a paper based application or if the original document is in black and white and not in colour. However, if the CO will contact you if they require documents to be certified after he/she has reviewed it. As an update to my initial query, my CO did not contact me back, however, my e-Visa online status showed that I was exempt from what I initially was requested for so I assume he got my email, just that they don't reply them? Anyway, just to confirm I emailed the dept. again using the contact us button on the website explaining that I emailed the CO and he didn't reply, perhaps there might have been a bug that some emails were not sent out?
  12. Great news! Good luck with the visa application

    Quarantine reduced

That's fantastic news, fossda! Thanks for the update Lorraine - I'm sorry to hear that the hooligans had a harrowing time in quarantine, but it's so soon over and they will be in your arms again! If all goes to plan we hope to benefit from the 10 day quarantine though it all depends on when we can get the import permit applied! Time's ticking for us….
  15. Thank you both! The CO didn't specify how to contact him back except to mention that I should quote my TRN, name, birth date in any correspondence. Hence I had to ask! I have just clicked reply and added my info and hope I get a reply
  16. Hi everyone, This may sound like a silly question but please bear with me! I was contacted by our CO this morning and he requested several things and I need to ask him back some questions back to clarify what exactly he is requesting in his email. My question is, do I just hit reply on the email (the reply to email address is a general email address for example dept_migration@blablabla.com) and just address my CO in the body of the email, as well as adding my details such as my name, birthdate and TRN number? Or should I click on the contact us button from the e-visa website? Thanks guys!
  17. I'm sorry to hear about the negative assessment! Perhaps maybe consult an agent and see if you can progress further from this? Or maybe an employer sponsored route? I have no idea what else to advice you... but good luck! Don't let go of that dream!
  18. Hi, I found this checklist on the immigration website. It is for streamlined visa processing and paper application but I think it goes for all visa applications, including online. Good luck! http://www.immi.gov.au/students/checklists/visa_573_0.pdf
  19. Have a safe flight Lorraine!! Don't forget to update us when you're there!
