I think that too makes him an eng technologist..............lol....I think im just untested to see if anyone knows what the Ozzie equivalent of and HND is......that's all. thanks J'Oz

  7. Bloody good point......there's nothing stoping him doing this to gain the visa then once were there he can apply to join the institutuion and get it then.....he he he.....that's me happy lol.....this was getting him down a bit.....after all theses years he thought that maybe it's was all for nothing!!! right now I have no idea what you weight, but I hope your like 50 stones or something because you've proved to be more than your weight in gold!!! Thank you lol xxx Joy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  8. Hi Matt thank you for this. The fact it takes only 5 weeks for the accord route instead of 18 for the cdr is brilliant. I have to say though, if we stick to the incorporated eng route and the fact that eng technologist is on the SOL, then it would be more than enough to get our foot through the door and get that golden visa!!!!! Do you you think it would affect his chances of getting a job as a mechanical engineer? Reality is, he's been doing the job for years with a proven track record.........this I guess is the big thing.....just want to know that when we go we're not going for any less than what we have here and that includes Mr JoOZ being happy with his job. many thanks JoOZ xxxx
  9. finally......some practical advise for a horrific problem!......thanks mike xxx
  10. Hello everyone........HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! We've decided that this is going to be our year!!!! We've been looking for the last 12 months for a job that can offer us sponsorship.......sadly, without much luck You'd think with Mr JoOZ being a mechanical engineer specialising the mining sector it wouldn't be that hard, but hay ho.........it's been Very frustrating however we are not deterred and have now decided to apply for a 189 skilled Visa. i have a couple of things I'd like to ask if that's ok. I know with the mighty power of the PIO possie will be able to help. Engineers Australia We need to go to Engineers Australia to get his qualifications assessed. We know that his UK degree is the equivalent of an Ozzie bachelor degree. However, he's been working as a mechanical engineer here in the UK and worked his way up from snr eng to lead eng. and he wouldn't be happy to do Anything less in oz. Its taken him years. So, taking this into account, We think he'll get his qualifications accredited by Engineers Australia for the Sydney accord for his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Engineering council of the UK have already told us this. However, the degree he has, Engineers Australia give home the title of engineering technologist. Does anyone know if we complete and submit a CDR, will that get him accredited as a mechanical engineer? At this point, does any one have any samples of mechanical engineer cdr's we maybe able to look at for reference purposes to ensure we're doing it correctly. The Visa Now when it comes to the Visa...........does anyone know how long it takes to process this visa once you apply........if any of you maybe able to post their time line or any helpful tips and hints to get things done that might be able to help us out...........we'd be really really grateful. Maybe an idea if costs if you feel like posting might also be helpful. god I've asked asked for so much.......I really hope I haven't put anyone off. I know I've looked for some of this information and had to sift through so much conflicting stories. Heres hoping someone will reply after reading my essay lol I do promise to help and support any new comers in the future once we've got our visa and made the move in a pledge to give a little back......it's the least I can do Much thanks and appreciation Joy's xxx

  16. Lol......like you know enough to comment!!!! judge pb presides!!! Lol
  17. PB For someone with such a strong opinion, your very ill informed, which again, brings me back to my point of, when you know enough about it you can comment. Until then, WIND YOUR NECK IN!!!! I look forward to hearing you opinion once you know more about it to make an INFORMED decision!! My god, why is this such a difficult thing for you to get lol ***rolling my eyes at the ignorance*** some of us have even agreed with you, why can't you extend the same courtesy and consider that there are people out there that have no choice and stop calling them thieves. That's just rude. Your really not covering yourself in glory here dude!
  18. Thats not what was said and you know it. This funding moves to oz was nothing to do with my original displeasure of you being so harsh on miss b sister. You've added this debts to fund moves point afterwards. For what its worth (and as it stands, not much due to my lack of moral standing!!!) I agree with you. Adding this point afterwards to detract from the fact your in no place to judge miss b sister makes me wonder about your moral standards. Looks like your trying to make your self look better! So to finish this, we're in agreement that a move to oz shouldn't be funded by debt, however, I will say it again, when it comes to judging people who have no choice but to walk away!!! Wind your neck in!!! JoZ
  19. Theres the proof of of the pudding!!! If you don't know how this can happen then your certainly in no place to judge! never heard of sponsored jobs? Never heard of relocation packages! One of my closest friends moved with a massive debts caused by the fact he lost his job and couldn't get one in the uk. The wages in oz where just enough for them to get by, no money left over to pay back debts. They basically took the chance to provide for them selves in oz, there's no way the uk was going to give the opportunitys they needed to get by. Are you trying to tell me they should put them selves in a worse position in oz, having come from a knightmere in the uk and pay their debts???!!!! Sometimes, you need to cut your losses and start a fresh. And that's that! By leaving their debts behind, they got their fresh start, live a less stressful (money wise) life in oz. they contribute to Ozzie society and pay their bills and taxes according to their ability. youve clearly never been in such an awful place. I really hope you never do. So my stance on this still stands! Wind your neck in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please be more considerate of other people's feelings. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'm sure you wouldn't like it! JoZ
  20. Hi PB do you have personal experience on being the this position??? Because IMO, unless you've walked a mile in the shoes of someone who say.......... has had to pick between feeding you kids and keeping a roof over their heads or paying off their debts, then you really can't judge. I'm sure you, social services and the rest of the world would have something to say if a child goes hungry or is neglected because someone felt that paying their debts was more important. If you can't get work in the uk (cos there aren't any) but can in oz with a fresh start, clean slate and are able to provide for your family, live a good life, why not start again. Miss B sister is hardly a serial rack up debt and run away from it serial offender here. If she was I'd be right there with you. Sounds like she's paid her way all the way until through no fault of her own, life has thrown a spanner in the works. So no need to be so harsh and at a risk of pi**ing you off, wind your neck in! To the original poster, good luck to you, my understanding is they can't follow you because you took out the the commitment governed by uk laws not Ozzie ones. And you've not broken an Ozzie agreement. Its not my place to judge anyone on this forum, if I had a choice, I would pay my debts, but I understand that sometimes, it's just not possible and we all need a second chance in life. Best of luck JoZ
  21. I know someone who got there 457 employer sponsored visa in 3 days!! That was October/November last year. Good luck and well done on securing the sponsorship and job. What a wonderful and exciting time for you.....I really hope it all works out. Xxx Hopefully, one day soon, well be as worthy as you lol J'sOz
  22. Hello Everyone Thank you so much for your responses. I knew I count on you :-* :notworthy: I'm still a little worried about this "on-hire" visa business. Still trying to work out if its a good thing. Can any of you give any advise as to what would happen if the job doesn't work out and you get told you out on your ear? It is the same rule applies that you only have 28 days to get another job. I get completely that there's a need for workers in this way, but its the lack of commitment to the person moving their entire life and families for the convenience of an Ozzie company that worries me. We'd be leaving permanent jobs in the UK for this and I guess the main question is, is there more leniency from the immigration department if things don't work out. As ever and in awe of your amazingness......... Joy's of Oz x x x
