  4. Hi Tony just wondering what level is your qualification is then in that case. My OH had and HND in mechanical eng does that make him The Ozzie equivalent of Australian Honors Degree level??? I think that too makes him an eng technologist..............lol....I think im just untested to see if anyone knows what the Ozzie equivalent of and HND is......that's all. thanks J'Oz

  7. Bloody good point......there's nothing stoping him doing this to gain the visa then once were there he can apply to join the institutuion and get it then.....he he he.....that's me happy lol.....this was getting him down a bit.....after all theses years he thought that maybe it's was all for nothing!!! right now I have no idea what you weight, but I hope your like 50 stones or something because you've proved to be more than your weight in gold!!! Thank you lol xxx Joy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  8. Hi Matt thank you for this. The fact it takes only 5 weeks for the accord route instead of 18 for the cdr is brilliant. I have to say though, if we stick to the incorporated eng route and the fact that eng technologist is on the SOL, then it would be more than enough to get our foot through the door and get that golden visa!!!!! Do you you think it would affect his chances of getting a job as a mechanical engineer? Reality is, he's been doing the job for years with a proven track record.........this I guess is the big thing.....just want to know that when we go we're not going for any less than what we have here and that includes Mr JoOZ being happy with his job. many thanks JoOZ xxxx
  9. finally......some practical advise for a horrific problem!......thanks mike xxx
  10. Hello everyone........HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! We've decided that this is going to be our year!!!! We've been looking for the last 12 months for a job that can offer us sponsorship.......sadly, without much luck You'd think with Mr JoOZ being a mechanical engineer specialising the mining sector it wouldn't be that hard, but hay ho.........it's been Very frustrating however we are not deterred and have now decided to apply for a 189 skilled Visa. i have a couple of things I'd like to ask if that's ok. I know with the mighty power of the PIO possie will be able to help. Engineers Australia We need to go to Engineers Australia to get his qualifications assessed. We know that his UK degree is the equivalent of an Ozzie bachelor degree. However, he's been working as a mechanical engineer here in the UK and worked his way up from snr eng to lead eng. and he wouldn't be happy to do Anything less in oz. Its taken him years. So, taking this into account, We think he'll get his qualifications accredited by Engineers Australia for the Sydney accord for his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Engineering council of the UK have already told us this. However, the degree he has, Engineers Australia give home the title of engineering technologist. Does anyone know if we complete and submit a CDR, will that get him accredited as a mechanical engineer? At this point, does any one have any samples of mechanical engineer cdr's we maybe able to look at for reference purposes to ensure we're doing it correctly. The Visa Now when it comes to the Visa...........does anyone know how long it takes to process this visa once you apply........if any of you maybe able to post their time line or any helpful tips and hints to get things done that might be able to help us out...........we'd be really really grateful. Maybe an idea if costs if you feel like posting might also be helpful. god I've asked asked for so much.......I really hope I haven't put anyone off. I know I've looked for some of this information and had to sift through so much conflicting stories. Heres hoping someone will reply after reading my essay lol I do promise to help and support any new comers in the future once we've got our visa and made the move in a pledge to give a little back......it's the least I can do Much thanks and appreciation Joy's xxx
