We got a CO within 2 weeks. Done our meds and police check in march. They go the Meds email from Medibank and they have the AFP's and just waiting on UK Police checks. Hope fully we will hear good news soon.

bloody hope so... Medibank sent our medicals to us in the post then sent the electronic ones across to Global and immigration. But they dont half leave you worried. Just hope we pass them

We haven't been told anything and Medibank had apparently signed them off and sent them over. i'm sue if there was anything of concern then we would have found out that that point.... Surely rather than leave you hanging on. thanks

as a fellow scot i too have thrown money on courses industrial medic and all that jazz... now i work in HR (still) and a paramedic in my spare time. there is hope yet.

Blossom We have done our medicals and police check and now just waiting on them clearing Global Health... The 457 was a back up plan if we failed the medicals. We have been told that it can take upto 3 months to clear global health... Crazy when the work has been done for them! Thanks for your advice

we have been applying for our PR for almost a year and we are in OZ. We have been given Bridging Visas pending our outcome. However my employer has offered to sponsor us on a 457. Natrually PR is better but if i accept the 457 will this now stop us getting the PR through the 190 visa scheme? Bloody confusing.

I Scrumpy. I had my Medicals at the start of March and had the signed off less than a week later and a hard copy posted to me. However they then go to Global Health who need to look at them as well... FECK knows why! but our migration agent has said to us it can take up to 3 months to clear them as some people have been waiting before Christmas 2012 to clear Global Health. Taking the piss i think

Today i have contacted my migration agent to ask about medicals. Basicly we had our medicals done begining of March 2013 along with the police checks. Now we have had our medicals signed off by Medibank etc but my question was how long will it take from receipt of medicals and police checks until the PR visa is granted. This is his reply "Once all police checks and medicals have cleared the visas are granted immediately. However, there is a very long delay in getting medicals cleared at the moment; we have people waiting from before Christmas." like what the hell!!! is anyone else in the same boat?

Are PR's or Aussie's able to import cars to Australia? Example i want to buy a car and ship it over just like we can do in the UK as gray imports. However no seams to give a straight forward answer. Answer is no i have not owned it for 12 months or more...

We are applying for State sponsorship (190 visa) it could just be a difficult case officer or an over active Agent.we ahve some stuff but not alot here to prove anything.

Our migration agent has this information but she call late lastnight or all tings to say... its not enough i need more evidence from Aug 12 - Jan 13 or the case officer wont accept it. I'm my agent calls me at night time just to stress me out! I had hoped the CO would understand that he is a tourist and that it is impossible to get more evidence other than bank statements. We now have a case officer 1 year after we started the process. Now our case officer has said we have until 11th April or our case will be closed!!!!! Like you get to drag your feet and we cant. So… We are a same sex couple together 13 years given DIAC everything to prove we have been together since date dot! Now we came over to Australia in June 2012 I’m on a WHV partner on a tourist visa so we can settle in or at least try before you buy. Our case officer has asked us for evidence we have been together since living in Australia. So since the other half does not have a job, we only have a house lease agreement with his name and mine on it plus joint bank statements to prove he has lived at the same address as me. Whereas I have payslips, speeding fines, WA Drivers licence, RAC Cover, Bank Statements and other crap.

Is the subject of Surrogate Mothers popular in Australia? Our situation does not allow us to have our own. Other option is adoption.
