Dusty where are you getting your information?? I came over from the North Sea after working in Egypt, Oman and Brazil and had 3 production operator job offers! I have worked for Apache and now have a job with Inpex and let me tell you they are paying great money compared to oil and gas elsewhere in the world! where else in the world have you worked in oil and gas?? There are plenty of opportunities for production operators in Australia there is a shortage of good experienced operators.

I had the same team although my visa is a 190 and time from CO to visa grant was 4 weeks. ​Scott

Hi All, My CO was assigned 18th March she requested my Meds and PCC's. Meds done on 8th April and PCC's sent. Just a waiting game now i feel like all i do is look at my emails!! I have a conditional job offer all depending on the visa being granted by the end of May so fingers crossed. ​Scotty

Hi looking for some advice i am hoping to make the move to SA later this year (visa is in touching distance) I have been in touch with various companies regarding work but 1 job is in Queensland but would be FIFO on a good rota, would it be possible for me to work in Queensland and live in SA with my SS 190 visa?? Hi Kirsty, I first contacted my agent in November 2011 and started the process of the TRA i work offshore so took longer to gather the information. I had my TRA results in 06 August 2012 my IELTS on 13th October and submitted the EOI on the 29th November and received the invitation to apply on the 12th of February. It could have been a lot quicker but i work offshore so the process was held up a lot until i was able to be at home top gather the information required. So to answer your question i was about 3 months from the EOI to the invitation. Cheers Scott

Hi, I am now a year into the process and i was finally invited to apply it is now sent away and awaiting to be assigned a CO does anyone know how long this may take? and how long till its all over and i finally have my visa !! Any advice would be most appreciated. Scott

Hi all i am moving out to Perth on a 190 visa in August and i am looking for work in the offshore oil and gas industry i currently work in production in the UK north sea. If there is anyone who currently works offshore in OZ or has any tips or advice it would be most appreciated. Cheers Scotty
