  1. Doing a decent job pffffftt, the guy is an absolute joke. His whole handling of the Brittney Higgins situation and his general disdain for females says it all. These Libs are a shower of scum bags and to back them and suggest they are doing a good job is "Tory" behaviour. Absolutely laughable Morrison is doing a good job
  2. Hi Guys, as the topic title says UK plumber looking for work in Perth, preferably south of the river. I'm willing to turn my hand to any graft and i'm not shy of hard work. Thanks in advance
  3. Hi Guys, just a question regarding car insurance in oz and more importantly your no claims. Can i use my no claims bonus when i apply for car insurance in Australia. Cheers Ned
  4. Hi Guys, i know there's info on the site about shipping power tools but the movecube comes in a few weeks and i'm stumped. The paper work from movecube states no batteries so i dont want to mess up. Any advice would be appreciated as i have various cordless tools all powered by lithium batteries?????
  5. Hi Guys, how in depth does the items list need to be for your movecube?? Do i need to count and list the amount of photo's/dvd's that are in each box, are customs going to be that strict. Cheers Ned
  6. Thanks for the info PQ, i'm not bringing any dogs. Our old terrier is staying with my son, she's knocking on now.
  7. Hi Guys, I'm hoping to ship my dog pens in our container. Would i just follow the usual plan for metal items and scrub/jet wash, then jeyes fluid?
  8. Thanks for the information lisa, sadly my wife is 44 so the 482 is out of the question. Would you recommend we lodge the visa application at the same time as the nomination. Is there not a risk of losing out?? We are pushed for time . Thanks
  9. Hi guys, just a quick question about the nomination process. A healthcare provider has agreed to sponsor my wife for a 186 visa. How long is the nomination process likely to take. Thanks in advance
  10. Yes 20 is needed for 189 so she's booking the test as we speak.
  11. Hi Guys Just a quick question regarding my wife's ielts score which she received today. She took the academic test and scored L9,R7,W7 and S8-5 with the overall band being 8. My question is this enough to gain the 20 points for 189 visa purposes. Thanks in advance Ned
  12. Hi Guys, just a quick question if i may with regards to the New(457). If an applicant applies when they are 44 and they complete the 3 years of the mid/long term option. Will they be eligible to transition to permanent residency. cheers Ned
  13. The requirements are for when you trained, because at the top of the page for professional requirements for a midwife it mentions about your length of programme. Its not professional experience as such its your practical experience whilst training. I think AHPRA have worded it wrong (not like ahpra). Your clinical records file should have all the info needed for criteria 5. Cheers ned
  14. I wouldnt be doing any bridging/iron courses, do you not think that topping up to degree would be better and cheaper. Its $10,000 for the iron course which equates to roughly £5500. CPD Modules come in at £500-£700 and your dissertation £1250 ish depending on the university. So if you had a Dip He and had accrued 240 credits you would be looking at 4 modules and a dissertation. That would be a potential cost of £3250 or worst case £4050 and if you already had extra credits the cost would be less. If it were me or rather my good lady who is a Midwife waiting on the glorious organisation that is AHPRA, well i would spend my £££££ in blighty. I wouldnt put anymore hard earned cash in to the Australian coffers. cheers Ned
  15. It was a tad out of order what was said but I feel it was just frustration. Ceridwyn you seem to troll the nursing section of sites chipping away with bitterness towards the nmc. Poms on here would be less critical of ahpra if they were up front. They are quick to take our dosh and even quicker to nudge them goal posts further out of reach. Cheers ned
  16. If i were you i would hang the latch and wait for a positive assessment of a Dip He trained nurse. Ahpra will gladly take your hard earned reddies, but i feel it may be a waste of money on your part. cheers Ned
  17. Well guys its "Squeeky bum time" i do hope there are some success stories real soon. My good lady is in the Dip He boat who else is paddling up Sh-t creek with her:cry: seems there are quite a few. cheers Ned
  18. I would like to know how the years of work experience are worked out for the ANMAC skills assessment. What constitutes a full years experience ie number of hours. cheers Ned
  19. I was just wondering if there was any news on visa fee increases. I was on the government website using the visa estimator tool and i put my dates in for august 2014. I wasn't able to get a price but when i put in this weeks date i was given a price. I think its around july time when changes are made, I hope the folk at DIBP aren't planning another eye watering increase like last years. cheers Ned
  20. I cant see the folk at AHPRA doing anything that might clarify things i dont think its in their DNA. With regards to the AQF frame work, if the AQF say a three year full time course is level 7 then Dip He must be equivalent to oz bachelor degree.
  21. Very well put posts jink , one problem i have with the folk at AHPRA is the fact they continue to take $$$$$'s. They receive applications from Dip He nurses/midwives and take the payment. Surely if they have no intention of granting registration, they should refund any payment. A simple glance at the form would tell them degree or Dip He and no body would be out of pocket. As for the Dip He being classed as a level 5 on the AQA scale, this i cant see happening. The Dip He course is 3 years in length and was sufficient prior to october 2013.
