1.

Hi mrs :-) things are good thanks. Everything seems to be going smoothly (too smoothly perhaps, its unnerving! ha). The countdown is on! 45 days to go, 12 shifts left at work! :-) How are you getting on? Did your wee dogs arrive safely? xx

 2. When I say I wont be making a profit I mean I wont be making any money from renting. Im renting it out for less than what I pay a month for my mortgage so I'll still be contributing to that. Im not sure how the whole thing works to be honest but I do know that I'd like to do it properly and I appreciate all the info given. I certainly dont plan to commit tax fraud.
 3.

Hi Gill :-) its all good thanks! Flights and leaving party booked, oz bank account opened, moving out of our house this weekend (sad face about that one). All heading in the right direction i hope! Hows things at your end? Settled in well? Loving life? :-D xx

 4. You should read 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne (she's an ozzie funnily enough). One chapter in and I was feeling happy as larry :-)
 5. He doesnt have a job lined up yet but i imagine he'll need his tools over there with him to secure one. So air shipping will probably be our best bet. Thanks for the info :-)
 6. Hello We're relocating to Perth from Scotland in July and my other half is looking to have his toolbox shipped over (weighs approx 190kg). Does anyone have any recommendations on who to use? Thanks :-)
 7. Initially we had planned to do it through an agency but that didnt work out. We're now leasing it out to a close friend, which i know some may think isnt advisable, but it seems to be our best and only option at the minute to be honest. Thanks for the advice, its appreciated :-)
 8. Thanks for that :-) yep, a private let with no agency involvement. And im clueless! ha.
 9. Hello, I'm about to rent my UK house out privately with no agent and was wondering how I stand on the tax situation. Do I have to inform the tax office? I wont be making any profit from renting, just enough to cover my mortgage. Does the Non Resident Landlord Scheme apply or is this only if done through an agent? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)
 10. Fingers crossed you'll find what you're looking for! Good luck :-)
 11. Im not sure what area i'll be in yet tbh. I've had my job with Ramsay Health lined up since last March following an overseas recruitment drive so my contract just said clinical services which made me think i hadn't been allocated to a ward yet. I chanced my luck with them and asked it i could be placed in Joondalup hospital instead of Hollywood Private as its right next to where we'll be staying. They said yes :-) so im just waiting for my new contract to be sent. I've been given a start date so hopefully my new contract will tell me where i'll be working! Yourself?
 12. I applied to the Perth office. My application took nearly 8 months but i finally got there! ha
 13. When my application was received they took the $115 application and $220 overseas assessment charge. I've since received my letter of eligibility which states I have a year to validate. As far as Im aware I'll pay the remaining $115 registration fee on presentation to the AHPRA office :-)
 14.

Aww thats fab :-) glad to hear its all been worth it. Its very reassuring! Im a bit of an emotional wreck with it all at the moment. So its nice to hear that its been a successful move for you so far :-) xx

 15.

Hi Gill :-) My visa has been granted and flights are booked for 9th July! yay! So now its just a case of getting organised to go. Very exciting/scary! Hows things with you? Hope you're settling in well xx

 16.

Hopefully they wont be too much longer. I would maybe try giving them a call or an email to see what the hold up is? They dont seem to do much unless you keep on at them!

 17.

Thanks! :-) Our best friends are getting married in June so we're planning to head out soon after that. I cant wait until my visa is finalised so we can book flights and start organising final arrangements. I've been reading on here that they're processing 457 visas pretty quickly so fingers crossed i hear back soonish xx

 18.

Hi Gill, just to let you know i finally got my AHPRA eligibility through this morning! Yay! Hopefully they will be able to finalise my visa asap now :-) I hope you've had better luck finding a rental and settling into oz life well :-) xx

 19.

I hope so. Im glad to hear you're settling in well. Stick in there with the rental business, your perfect wee house it in there somewhere waiting to be found :-) let me know how you get on. Take care xx

 20.

Hi Gill, Im good thanks how are you? Hows oz?? So glad that you finally got there :-) Still not much happening at my end. AHPRA emailed me on the 20/2 saying that my application was being escalated for final approval and nothing since. I've emailed a few times to try and chase it up but they wont reply to my emails :-( feeling very fed up now xx

 21. Hi Pollgirl, Im similar to you, 3 years post reg Bsc. Im going on a 457 visa and didnt have to sit an english test. I think as long as you can prove that you were taught in English they will be happy with that. They accepted my high school exam results as proof of this. I also secured my job before i had even started my AHPRA application so yes, it can be done  Be warned though, registering with AHPRA can take forever. I applied in aug and im still not registered. I was lucky in that i had already organised a delayed commencement with my sponsor so i've had the time to wait.
 22.

That sucks :-( the politics in this country are all wrong.. xx

 23.

I totally agree Gill. Its just so frustrating at times, the amount of people out there breaking their backs every day to do the best they can in their job and are continually faced with criticism. You wonder if its really worth it sometimes xx

 24.

Oh brilliant Gill! really pleased for you! :-) Finally you will be able to go ahead with the rest of your plans. It hope the rest goes smoothly for you! Still no luck with my reg but hopefully it wont be too far behind yours. Keep me updated on your progress :-) xx
