  3. Hello everyone, I submitted my application at around 6pm this evening and I am SOOOO happy, however my agent said that it could take 4-5 months until a grant :err: is this true??? Thanks, Laura xxx
  4. Hello, we paid £36 for the vaccination and then £89 for the blood tests which included all of the papework for our two cavaliers. x
  5. I definitely know what you mean about going over without a perm job but I think sometimes you have to just take the leap. I said I would never do agency work but now I am really looking forward to it. My friend does 4 on 6 off which gives her time to enjoy Australia Obviously everyone's circumstances are different but if it works i think agency is a good thing. The agency I am with have been really good so far and unlike others they are actually Australia based. If you like I can give you their details so you can contact them. It might make you feel a bit better to speak with them and maybe get some reassurance. Adelaide looks like an amazing place, it would be a shame to give up on it because of the job situation. we are going SS how about you guys? x
  6. Hello Robertsclan, My husband and I plan to move to Adelaide in August 2013. Like you, I was very worried when i searched RMN jobs in Adelaide. Before deciding on moving to Adelaide i managed to secure 4 posts across Australia.... I have joined an agency, a reputable one and they have explained that the job situation in Adelaide is strange when it comes to mental health nursing. The agency explained that it doesnt work the same in SA as it does in other Australian states or at home in the UK. I was told that hospitals dont put out advertisements when they need positions to be filled and that they rely a lot on agency nurses and then as an agency nurse you secure a job this way. There are a few perm positions that are being advertised at the moment but generally this is the way things are done in SA health. I was a bit worried/dubious when I heard this but my friend who is nursing in Adelaide at the moment confirmed that this is true and that there is TONS of work for mental health nurses. I know it is a risk but i definately believe what I have heard and as i say we will be moving out in August. Hope this helps Laura xx
  7. Were not flying until August 15th, I am positive that we will be OK for that date. Its myself and my husband who are going, we have been together for 5 years and married for 3 so think we will be ok with the partner stuff IF the question it. I think though that......I will book but maybe in Jan. xx
  8. Aw me too, I'll keep tabs on you hopefully we will get it around the same time x
  9. Hi bubbe2005, I know, what a nightmare. If it is 14 weeks I should hear on 12th November to the day. I hope this is just temporary. I wanted my visa as a christmas present xx
  10. Hey guys thanks for your replies I am in the middle of getting SS sorted. I am going through Ian Harrop and have been advised that we should have a visa pretty soon. we literally have the visa app, medicals and police checks to do. Neither of us have any issues with the police or medically that we know of but I know medicals get refferred for healthy individuals. I am going out as a mental health nurse and I have already had my AHPRA deadline extended so i HAVE to be there before end of August. we are looking to fly on the 15th with cathay pacific at £655 per person with 40KG'S luggage. Just wondering weather to book really. xx
  11. My friend did this and I dont want to tempt fate BUT i have found some really good prices for August. I know that ideally its best to wait for a grant but I was wondering.... Has anyone done this? Your thoughts and opinions would be greatly recieved. Cheers, Laura. x
  12. Are the invitation rounds every fortnight? xx
  13. bubbe2005, did you ever fin out current processing times? I submitted mine on 12/9 and I am hoping to have my visa as my Christmas present xx
  14. jill cakebread, how dare you say this to the OP when you do not even know their circumstances. I generally sit back on this forum and stay out of the conflict BUT this comment has really got my back up. There could be so many circumstances as to why the debt was not paid. I for one would rather that Australia give someone a visa who had experienced financial difficulties at some point than accept such a negative, spiteful, judgemental person. To the OP, I took out a DRO 3 years ago and dealt with the CCCS. I am now working with Ian Harrop and I am at the end stages of the process. Ian informed me that the DRO would NOT have any impact on a visa grant. xx

If anyone would like to see an "AHPRA acceptable" CV, university transcripts or CPD evidence just PM me your email address and ill send it over. I have also attached a copy of the AHPRA guidelines for CV format. Standard-Format-for-Curriculum-Vitae.pdf Standard-Format-for-Curriculum-Vitae.pdf
