  1. Helloooo, eek I bet you are SO excited?? Ha ha exactly It wouldnt be as much of an adventure with tens of thousands in the bank would it. I mean I dont mind living pauper style for a few weeks on arrival... Its all my fault though as I read somewhere that soft furnishings are really expensive then I got this drunk Idea to buy all the soft furnishings I could find so the savings have been left in a poor state haha. I have to say it did not go well when I said to my husband ''Never mind at least we have nice pillows to sleep on''.. Good luck with your move, you;ll have to fill me in on how you managed. I have my fingers crossed re the work situ. x

  3. Ah just a bit :eek:I know its scary but i think sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Jump then think afterwards afterall, lifes too short and somehow things tend to work out in the end xxxx
  4. Ha ha cheers Bobj reckon ill be fine then... although I may be following in your footsteps if my savings carries on the way it is doing at the mo x

  6. Hi Tickled Pink, thanks for your supersonic speed response  its good to know others have done it and not crashed and burned in the process. I suppose as with anything, if you want something badly enough you will make it work.. xx
  7. Hello everyone, . I hope your all doing well and plans are coming together nicely.. My husband and I are all set to go in August. Visa in place, Flights booked, shippers paid for, Somewhere to stay for the first month and a job on arrival however, we planned on taking around £10000 with us but you know how it is, something always comes up. we have moved into a caravan on a nice cold hill to help us save but its looking that we will have more around the £7k mark. I know it will be tight but we are masters at budgeting and I think we will be OK. Can anyone tell me if they have done it with less than £10k? Cheers all, laura xxx
  8. Hello ycfcsammie, I have not heard of them but you can check to see if they are MARA registered and do a bit of digging before committing? I have used Ian Harrop and they were faultless. Jenny who dealt with me and my husband was brilliant and very patient. I can not recommend them highly enough (im not on commission i swear:wink:). Good luck and if you need anything please feel free to PM me. xx

  12. Yeah I think I got it in May if i remember correctly?? I got an extension until 28th August they were reluctant but did it in the end. All you have to do is get your statement of good standing from the NMC re-sent and pay the £35 again............. xx
  13. Honestly Stacey if i did it again I would do OT. My friend is an OT and LOVES it. She did a rotation and decided on MH. There are jobs you just have to look and put the blinkers on when people try put the fear of god into you re the job situation....I took a job in the voluntary sector at first as it was the only job i could find and people said 'you will never get back into the NHS once going private' but I took a leap of faith and it paid off as I have a good job now in the NHS. xx
  14. Ahhh Thank you Maruska its nice to hear from you :wubclub: Hopefully you will have your soon? xxx
  15. Hey Stacey, I am a mental health nurse. I only had to have 12 months to get PR. I applied 12 months to the day aswell, however, I did get offered a 457 (i think thats right) offered from various employers before I had even graduated. It had been a dream for years and it just got to the point where I had to decide on a career that not only I liked but that was transferable. I fell into nursing..I actually applied for social work but got declined and got offered nursing instead as at the time they were trying to get the intake levels up. I am so glad it happened. I love my job. Its not a forever career as its very stressful (I work on a 25 bedded acute female unit at the moment) but its a good one. If you EVER need any help, books ect please just message me. were not leaving until August xxx
  16. Hello everyone, well today finally came..I got my visa to stay in Australia indefinitely...I just wanted to say a great big thanks to people on here for there advice and support. Some has been fantastic and others....well, enough said. I have made a friend from PIO and I hope that this will last into the future and at times when I have had enough some good peeps on here have made me feel better and for that I am grateful. I hope that 2013 brings everyone what they wish for weather that to be here or there but most of all I hope it brings you all good health and happiness. Lots of Love, Laura, Mark and the Dogs xxxxx
  17. Hi jonny kash, thanks for your response. My job is in high demand or so iv heard. I am a mental health nurse and mark works in customer services. Hopefully we will be ok. We have a place (rent free) to come on arrival. We just have us so can scrape food costs ect st first. Positive energy attracts positive things so I'm trying not to worry x
  18. Thanks for your reply we are looking at Glenelg and should get a rent for around 350pw so its comforting to know that you managed. I have a job to go to but its agency. I think I am just at the reality stage of the move where everything has suddenly started to feel real and I panicked... Completely agree with you about furniture ect. xxxx

It has taken everything to save this, we are even living in a caravan throughout winter I have had many sleepless nights worrying that we dont have enough. would you be willing to share with me what you spent your money on when you arrived? Did you both have jobs to go to? Thank you, Laura. x
