1. As Jac says, you need to check as to whether your husbands profession is on the list SOL / CSOL lists first of all. unfortunately as he has no formal trade qualification and hasn't worked in the trade for the last 5 years I wouldn't imagine he would pass a skills assessment.
 2. As soon as the economy is fruitful again Baz the masses will arrive again... It's not rocket science.
 3. Not to sound negative but I doubt your husband would get sponsored from the UK in the current climate. Construction projects have dried up considerably and companies can hire local easy enough. The boom days are unfortunately over for now. It's not easy trying to find employment without local experience also. Personally, if you qualify, I'd go the PR route. I think a CSCS site supervisors gold card would only be the equivalent of an AQF level 3. Best of luck though. Hope I an proven wrong
 4. For the sake of my family and friends I really hope Scotland gets voted into independence if people think the UKIP will solve Britain's problems.
 5. Stubby holders Muscular men in tight shorts vests people wearing suits with Oakley sunglasses dodgy long goatee beards people thinking I'm Irish
 6. Never had stones but I had a bad kidney infection last year where I had very similar symptoms to you.
 7. Nothing like Scotland at all. Perth just went about 120 days without rain up until a couple of weeks ago. It can hammer down in winter but it is needed then. Don't let people on here tell you that the rain is worse as I can genuinely tell you that that is a lot of crap!!
 8. Honestly... English will the second language in the Midlands in 20 years!
 9. Last time I was in the Midlands it was spot the white man... I could have sworn I had been teleported to Islamabad!
 10. I put an offer on a house last week for $680 k. Got a call from the mortgage broker today saying the bank wants to evaluate it prior to issuing finance. Will be interesting to hear the outcome next week! It could screw me though!

Hi, I came across your post and was just wondering if having an HND hindered you at all when applying for jobs over there. I'm a civil engineer with 6 years experience working on civil projects and also have an HND as opposed to a degree. I am flying over around April to find work but I am just worried that employers won't recognise it as a qualification and therefore not employ me even though I have good professional experience. Any advice would be great.

If you have just applied for WA SS you should hear back by the middle of May as my agent advised there is a 6 week processing time then you can get your visa in straight away.

I'm just waiting to hear back from VETASSESS which should be within the next 4 weeks hopefully then I lodge my WA SS application. Time is tight but if all goes to plan I should be in Oz by next summer.
