  1. I got our visa labels put into our passports when we arrived in October. It was free and took all of 5 mins at the emigration office in Perth. Someone else said that you have 3 months to change over. I think I needed to have a bank card as well when I applied.
  2. Got a phonecall from DP to say our visa (subclass 100) has been approved! I can hardly believe it and I don't think it has sunk in yet at all  I applied Jan 24th and it was approved June 10th. Hoping to head out in August. Good luck to everyone else still waiting
  3. thanks maybeamy. I suppose it's when I've never done anything like this before it's hard to know if I.m doing it right. I'll keep in mind that no news is good news. I'll sit back now and be extra patient  Whereabouts are you? You said you're enjoying it which is always nice to read
  4. Hi everyone, I sent my police checks to London and have had the medicals (as requested) but I have not heard anything since. Is this normal? It's only been 12 days. Also I sent my police checks directly to DP as his name was on the letter instead of the designated courier office. I'm ever so slightly concerned as I forgot to make a copy of police checks. I feel like a child needing someone to hold my hand at every stage of this visa process! I swear I'm normally an autonomous adult
  5. Hi Clipclop, Thanks for getting back to me. I rang them on Thursday. Turns out they sent the email to the wrong address. I now have a case officer. I was so excited. He said everything is looking good. Will be making the appointment for the meds on monday. It's such a relief to get sorted- well to this point anyway:biggrin:
  6. Hi Clipclop, Do you mind me asking when you sent yours in? I sent mine end of Jan and haven't heard back yet. I got some of the things I sent as proof of rel along with some passport port photos and a crumpled post-it note saying to use these for medicals but no email from a case officer. I think I'll just ring them to find out what is going on. Am eager to get things moving
  7. Hi Gwyndra, It seems I'm having a similar experience. Got the cards and photos back but no email or letter. I'm not as patient as you though I've already sent them an email  Hopefully I'll hear back soon and have a case officer
  8. best of luck to you. I hope you get a buyer soon. Just think you're almost there
  9. congratuations swifty!! that is great news. When will you go? I was coming on to post that I got back my photos, proof of living together etc but I still haven't gotten an email telling me to go get medicals or a reference number. They sent back some of the passport photos and said to use these on a post it note for the medicals but no reference number. I sent off a generic email to the commission. Has anyone had something like this happen? I'm sure it's because of my ymail address. It is always misread as gmail.
  10. So much effort went into my mammoth application. I'm dying to get on with the rest of it and get it done! It's great your son is going with you even if he decided after everything else had been lodged Selling your house I think is recognised as one of the most stressful experiences you can go through. We did it once before. Trying to pretend that your house is an immaculate show home all the while praying no one will look in the wardrobes
  11. Well if the official line is ten days then that makes it a little better. All I could see from the thread was 2-4 days time difference. I was kicking myself after that I didn't use my husband's- a straight forward co.uk. I'll give it to the end of the week and then I will contact them. Thanks swifty. My anixety has somewhat dissipated. I have a feeling that this is going to be a long 5-6 months
  12. Thanks swifty. That seems to be the norm. I think it may be becasue my email is "ymail" and people seem to read it automatically as "gmail" no matter how neatly I write it. Do you know who I should contact to find out? I'll wait a few more days but if I haven't heard by next Monday I'll email them
  13. Hi everyone, I was wondering how long it took the commission to contact you after taking the payment. Payment was taken 24th Jan but I haven't heard anything back yet. I've glanced through this thread and see most people hear something within 2-3 days. I'm starting to get ever so slightly anxious
  14. Hi everyone. I'm new to this thread. It's very uplifting reading through and seeing Visa's being granted. I sent in my spouse application last week. Payment was taken 24th Jan '10. Just waiting on an email now. That is the key theme of this thread i think- waiting  Fingers crossed everything will be straight forward enough
