  1. Tell me about it. We're past the three month date but thought we'd wait until 4 months before contacting him again. Got a few issues with our house sale and then some tight deadlines so believe it or not, a visa is the least of our worries! Doesn't stop me checking every day though.
  2. Wow, really? We were assigned CO 28 March and have been repeatedly told mid Sept. I know that's the official line, but nice to hear that co's aren't all quoting it.
  3. Congrats Sinead, Hop you have a wonderful life out there. Who was your CO? Elizabeth
  4. What wonderful news and feel very priveleged to know before you OH, lol. All the best to you and fingers crossed the rest of us have the same time frames x
  5. Fantastic news for you and good luck with your life down under:biggrin:
  6. It's been a little quiet recently in terms of approvals hasn't it. Come on guys, send those chocolates and muffin baskets to get the queue moving!
  7. Oh Tillyloola, I know what you're going through. We had to rehome 3 of our pets as they are too small to make the journey and the next day one of the children told my son that it had died during the night when it hadn't. Keep strong and know that we're all doing this together and are here if you need to sound off or need a shoulder
  8. We lodged ours in person on 26/04, assigned AB 04/05. If it follows the full 6 months for us, it's too late to use our aussie holiday this year as the initial entry and we'll need to arrange another trip before may next year (medicals and police 9/5). I'm encouraged by the fact that quite a few people that have had AB, have received theirs in about 4 months. We are in Oz for 3 weeks so even if it's 5 months, we can still nip across to NZ for a couple of days and come back! Are your flights booked for your permanent move? If it was 4 months we would be SO happy that it would make all of this worth while. The flights we have booked are for the permanent move and the dates chosen to ensure the children didn't miss too much schooling (our daughter is jumping up a year and the longer she's in the UK the more she misses out on). One way tickets too, so hubby can't even enter on that ticket. It's a fine line and a big gamble but needed to be done. I've spent this morning cleaning garden furniture, tools and spare bike wheels with Jeyes in the hope customs will pass them, but am beginning to think I might need a toothbrush to be really effective! Furniture leaves 3 weeks today!
  9. Hi Aussiedad, He's been very efficient, just not deviated from the 5-6 month line. He has our travel dates too, so he knows we'd like it before mid August but he quoted 5-6 months back to us and advised against booking flights - which we already had. We're not sure of exact date of lodging visa, but were assigned AB 28/3. Good luck and keep us posted. Elizabeth
  10. Thanks Bek7! He's been giving us the standard line the whole way through and won't move on the 5-6 month angle so fantastic to hear he doesn't stick to it. We had bargained on 4.5 months and have been naughty and booked flights.:unsure::unsure:
  11. Am I the only one on here with AB as a CO? Anyone else had any experience of him and can give examples of time frames. We've now both resigned, house sold, I'm applying for jobs out there but hubby's waiting until that visa comes through which would be 28th ish of August at the 5 months waiting mark. Can't remember exactly when the form was submitted but we got our CO 28th March.
  12. Huge congratulations to you!! Nearly made me cry as it means there is hope hubby can get his visa in time to come out with us!
  13. Will PM you as it is slightly off the topic and don't want to bore poeple!
  14. Congratulations. 4.5 months would work very well for us. Hope it all goes well.
  15. Our C/O is AB. We're heading for Eastern suburbs of Brisbane. My daughter is 11 and going into year 6 this year and my son 9 going into year 3. I work in a school too, but the issue is that we weren't allocated a secondary school here and have now been given one some distance from us, so need to be in Oz well and truly before the year here starts. Although I have handed my notice in, I'm lucky enough to still be paid until first week in September and our house has sold. My friend went to Sydney in Dec and her visa (same class as mine) was allocated in 6 days. How unbelievable is that. We had though 4.5 months given the website said 3-6 months and based on everything on here, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. Very pleased to see that someone got theirs approved today after 4.5 months so we may yet squeeze in. Good luck with it all and keep us updated.
  16. Hi TracyC, you applied exactly same day as my hubby and was given exactly the same orginal date in Maidenhead for the medical but we were never offered an earlier option so went with 6th May Where are you heading in Oz?
  17. If you're going to call make sure you get a skype account and add some credit to it. Calls are about 1.4p/minute. Very cost effective
  18. Hi Amanda, Who is your CO? We originally sent in forms 24/3 and had an email today saying all info received nothing else to do but would not be processing visa as back log and processing in order received. We've been told 5-6 months which means 24th Aug or 24 Sept. ALready booked flights, sold house etc, due to schooling issues but now no idea on whether hubby should resign and take the risk or wait arrrrggghhhhh!
  19. Hi all, We sent the forms on 24th March. Contacted requesting photos and bank statements - sent 24th April (we were in Oz on hols when they asked!) 1st week May - police checks sent 2nd week May - medical taken (blood tests took two weeks to process and were only submitted end of May!) Emailed case officer 7th May who said they had all the documents and infor required but would not be processing the application due to back log and are processing in date order recieved. Have been advised 5-6 months which would take us to the 24th Sept. Unfortunately flights are already booked for 16th August... now worried:frown:
