1. Havn't been on for a few weeks (still got medical issues going on:arghh:) but happy to see more people getting their CO's and living their dream. I might get a chance to have another try when all of this is sorted  Phoebe
 2. Haha yes it was just an expression but hey if it helps with the VAC Fund  When we start talking about our great British government things started to get a bit too serious around here :biglaugh: Phoebe
 3. I won't have to worry about this just yet because the government has kindly put me back out on the streets working for an extra 3 years before I can claim mine  Phoebe
 4. Struth  where did that time go :swoon: Soubds like you are still living the dream so happy for you both  Phiebe
 5. If you get the CPV173/143 do yo have to have any specific document to allow you to work in Oz  I know about having to have Oz qualification to work as say an electrician, I mean something 'in general' apart from the VERY expensive visa :arghh: Phoebe
 6. Does anyone know the answer to this one? We have a Will in the UK, if we decided to move to OZ would it still be valid or would we have to make new one in OZ? Phoebe
 7. I was just about to look up the 176 :biglaugh:. Congratulations  Phoebe
 8. Hi Ann & Roy You might like to check out www.housesitters.com too  Phoebe
 9. Hi So you are pretty close to my daughter at Varsity, we've shopped at Pac Fair (I even know the lingo ) many a time. I have naturally agonised over the cost etc but I'm trying to look at it as buying into a new way of life. It would be good to keep in touch for when we come over if your up for it. So glad things are working out for you both  Phoebe
 10. Hi Yes I do remember you as Cakey  so glad you are settling in so well  Which part of the Gold Coast did you settle on? My daughter is in Varsity Lakes, not sure when we will be going out there again, possibly towards the end of this year October/November time, it would be really good to meet up if we could. Hubby is still a bit 'iffy' on the cost, work front etc so it could well sway him in the right direction to talk to people who have actually done it and are settling  I'm so happy to hear how possitive you sound :cute: Phoebe
 11. I'm pretty much in the same boat finance/deciding if it's the right thing for us. :err: I'm lucky (depending how you look at it) I do have hubby  Good Luck with it all we have great support here  Phoebe
 12. Just checking in  we are possibly looking into going for the 173. Has anyone who did this regretted it? Phoebe
 13. Hi My daughter used Crown in the UK she said they were fantastic from start to finish. Not sure if they have an outlet in Ireland but if you Google it I'm sure you could easily find out. Good Luck. Phoebe
 14. Havn't been on for a while, after having to cancel our CO, losing another sister in November & hubby's mam having a fall in December (she's 82) we topped off what can only be described as a s*** year with a nasty car crash the week before Xmas  lot's of muscle and tissue damage, lot's of physio in the next few months, but thankfully we walked away. just about topped our year off  But it's now a New year so it's onwards and upwards. Still not settled on what we are going to do as things with the business are very iffy ATM, we need things to settle a bit first, but we havn't given up yet:cute:. Loving the new site and deffinatly the 'Like' button  Happy & Healthy New Year to you all. Phoebe
 15. Durrr......sorry I know you have 1 year to validate sorry. What I meant to ask was do you still have 5 years to make the move :twitcy: Phoebe
 16. Hi Mike I'm sure this will have been on before......do you still have the '5 years' to validate when you apply for the CPV173  Phoebe
 17. Hi It's been a while since I was here so much going on :swoon: My family and health issues have still been going on (more consultants to see until they get to the bottom of the problem) :arghh: Sadly my family problems are no longer an issue, my sister passed away on Monday after a short battle with cancer  that's the third sister I have lost in the past 4 years......it makes you think  On a lighter note I have managed to open Oz and UKForex accounts and made my first 'deal' (thanks to those of you who pointed me in that direction and I mentioned I had got the info from the 'very helpful people on this forum' they seemed very :jiggy:. It was very straight forward and the people I have spoken to there have been so helpful. I got a decent 1.587 AUD exchange too  as I said before if we don't get to Oz we can always use it for holidays and such :cute: We havn't had much chance to talk about re applying as yet with everything that's been going on so we havn't ruled it out either  Well that's me up to date :biglaugh: Phoebe
 18. As we say 'oop North' shy bairns get nowt....well done  Phoebe

Hi

If the worst comes to the worst and you have to post them try a company called Interparcel. I sent my papers to Perth via them and it was about 2/3rds the cost of other companies. You can get an online quote once you have the size and weight of the parcel and they collect & deliver door to door. It's worth comparing. Let me know how you get on.

 22. I know my daughter got an extra 10kg allowance (so 40kg altogether) off Emirates but that was their 'one way' ticket. Why not just ring the airline and ask you've got nothing to loose, just tell them you need to take some personal items prior to settling  Phoebe
