  1. Don't worry about it you only need sun tops, skirts. sandals and plenty knicks :biglaugh:
  2. Hi If it's any help we are in our 50's and have been self employed for the past 23 years :cute: we have been looking at the possibility of buying a franchise of some kind there seem to be quite a few over there (depending on your area of move of course) Try www.google.com.au and search for franchises in the area your interested in, it may help if they have something to focus on for after they (like everyone here) have sold there souls to the Aussie Government :swoon: Hope this helps a little  Phoebe
  3. Certainly looks that way.............now I'm stumped as to what to do :swoon: Phoebe
  4. The prices have certainly jumped :swoon: my daughter used Crown 3.5 years ago (said they were very good) 20ft container then was £3500 :daydreaming: Phoebe

  6. Thankyou and yes Emma said they had met at pre-schooland had a chat  we leave here on 17th April stopover in Singapore for 2 nights then arrive in Brisbane 20th, you never know we might meet somewhere :cute: Phoebe
  7. Hi Everyone Just wanted to share some personal good news with you all. My daughter Emma gave birth to a beautiful baby boy Harry Christopher Robert 8lb 3oz in Australia at 2pm our time (11pm in Oz) had a bit of a scare , emergency section as he was breech and got stuck but they are both well. Cant wait to see them in 2 weeks time :jiggy: Phoebe
  8. I have sent this email, let see what comes back :daydreaming: Dear Sir/Madam Sorry to trouble you again but, I am a member of a forum of parents who support each other through this process. When I informed them of your reply specifically 'the time spent while on a 143 parent visa application, will not be considered when lodging a new parent visa application' I have had replies on the forum telling me that other parents have had conflicting replies when asking questions regarding changing from 103 to 173/143, and 173/143. Can someone please confirm the correct status. I would not be lodging a New application merely Changing from the 143 to 173. Thankyou in advance for your time Regards Phoebe J Wilson
  9. Thanks Mike I'll do that, why can no-one just give you a straight answer :arghh: are they all bl**dy politicians :swoon: Phoebe
  10. I know that's what is so frustrating :arghh: but if it has to go that wayand I'm going to lose my place in the Queue (and not 100% on it yet) I would rather go with your earlier 'radical' idea and start over.......at least I would save on having to pay the upgrade $235  Phoebe
  11. I had kind of 'bit the bullet' on having to pay the first VAC :swoon: twice but I really do think losing our place in the queue is a bit much given that parents who have changed from 103 to 173/143 havnt lost theirs (no personal sleight intended to anyone in that position :cute:) but it does really make me :realmad: Phoebe
  12. Hi I have had a reply to the Parent Centre in Perth Dear Sir/Madam Many thanks for your enquiry. Yes, it is possible to switch from contributory parent subclass 143 to parent visa subclass 173. Complete new Forms 47PA and Form 40 and post them to the address below together with a new First Visa Instalment of AUD$1,735.00. At this stage, you don't need to provide other documents, rather than Forms 47PA and 40. New documents will only be requested if the validity of the previously submitted documents has expired. The time spent while on a 143 parent visa application, will not be considered when lodging a new parent visa application. For further information, including the new fees (from 01 July 2010) for the Second Visa Application Charges, you may wish to visit our website: www.immi.gov.au So it appears we would loose our place in the queue  Phoebe
  13. That says it all. No wonder the rental market is so big there :swoon: Phoebe
  14. Thanks Linday I think thats who I emailed last time and they sent me a number to ring in Oz but I've emailed them again see what comes back. If I get the same answer I'll have to ring Oz, thankfully Les Avelock gave me a cheap rate number fingers crossed  Phoebe
  15. Thanks Val. Does anyone happen to have the right email address :wideeyed: Phoebe
  16. Hi This is the reply I got from the enquiry about changing from 143 to 173 regarding our place in the queue. Dear Phoebe Thank you for your enquiry. You will need to contact the office where you lodged your application to advise them of your decision. They will be able to advise you if this will effect your place in the queue. Does anyone know if this is this the Perth Office where I got the acknowledgement from :wideeyed: Phoebe
  17. With the rate of inflation at an all time high here is there really any difference :wideeyed: then again we have had a WHOLE 1p off a litre of fuel (for now before it goes up 5p :swoon:), that's enough to put anyone's BP up :twitcy: Phoebe
  18. I think everyone here is going to end up with BP problems before this is over :twitcy: Steve.....please tell us we can 'chill' on the other side or the Aussie Government is going to make a fortune out of us with BP meds :cute: and thanks for those links  Phoebe
  19. Hi Linday Thanks for that  Could you point me to the link I seem to be going around in circles :goofy: Phoebe
  20. I also have BP issues  however a friend of my daughters who moved out there in 2006 has BP issues and it wasn't a problem so it gives me hope  she just takes her daily meds, I'm sure your hubby has nothing to worry about , then again if he's checking it twice a day he'll proberbly push it up hide is machine :twitcy: Phoebe
