  3. On the back of that my daughter who lives in Queensland has had warnings of 2 Cyclones further North (Townsville) where some of our extended family live. The first one thankfully has done minimal damage, the second (and worst one) is due to hit Wednesday night/Thursday morning and a metre of rain also forecast, it's heading West......:shocked: Lets all pray to our Gods that people are safe, they can't take much more of this :cry: Phoebe

I'm soooo jealous :wideeyed: We are heading out in April for 8 weeks :biggrin: but then we have to come back and wait AGAIN...:cry: We stayed over in Singapore for 2 nights last time and must say felt better when we got to Oz so doing it again this time:wink: Good luck on the last leg :cool: Phoebe
  11. Hi Paula I can tell you my SIL and daughter went on a 457 they applied for and got perm residency after 2 years. As soon as they were perm residents they were able to sponsor us on a CPV 143. Hope that helps a little :wink: Phoebe
  12. Hi Wilma Good luck with everything :biggrin: Do you mind me asking, I noticed you had your CO allocated in October 2010 but VAC request was 3 months later, did you ask or were given an extension to pay the 2nd VAC? Just trying to look at all the options :smile: Phoebe

Hi Our application was only acknowledged on 3rd September 2010 so not for a while yet unfortunatly :cry: However we are going in April for 8 weeks, my daughter is expecting our third grandchild and they are having the christening while we are there so really looking forward to it :jiggy:it will also give us some time to do a bit of a rekki of areas close to them where we might like to live/work etc. They are on the Southern Gold Coast about 1 hour drive from Brisbane, where are you heading? Hi Can anyone help me with this one. :idea: We have applied for the CPV143, currently we have a small business in the UK and are alternating between Self Employment versus being employed in Oz, but we have heard 'unofficially' that we would have to work for someone else for the first 2 years before we could start a business.:frown: Does anyone know if this is true :notworthy: Phoebe

We applied for the CPV143 also in September....3rd to be exact :cute: Have you put your name on Steve's tracker it give you an idea of how long it is taking for CO's etc :biggrin: My daughter is about 1 hour South of Brisbane and luckily have so far been ok apart from 'king tides' although apparantly a Cyclone is due on Australia Day :swoon: Good Luck with everything :cool: Phoebe

We are going out on a visitors visa in April, my daughter is expecting our third grand child and I can't imagine not being there when she has it :biggrin: We are staying for 8 weeks this time (can't push work for any more time ) or we would have stayed the 3 months :jiggy: Our family is safe so far thankfully but our thoughts are with all those who have had to go through this horendous ordeal.....stay strong....   20. My daughter is much the same she lives in Varsity Lakes near Robina the have a river at the bottom of their garden but are on a slight incline so keeping fingers crossed so far they are all safe with a 6 and 4 year old and 6 months pregnant it's a real worry...
  21. Its a very worrying time for our families and us here....it's difficult to know what to do. Our daughter is in Varsity Lakes....ok so far but warnings are not ggod, she has 2 little ones age 6 and 4 and is 6 months pregnant. If you have never prayed before.....now is the time to start.   23. :huh: My daughter is saying warnings are out in Brisbane and Northern NSW.......she is in between the two :wideeyed: and we complain about our weather.....however :cool: is infinatly better I feel :jiggy: Phoebe
