1. We left the contents of at least one of our suitcases behind on our last trip to avoid just that. My summer wardrobe here is seriously depleted but I'm not buying any more! We filled the empty suitcase with childrens cloths the girls had grown out of and dropped them off at my daughter's best friend for her family. Not long now Katie - you must be so excited
2. Our agent told us as long as we can show/give updates we are making progress (ie sent Police checks and made appointments for Medicals and AoS even if not completed) within that timescale - its not a problem
3. Clive's down at the dump as I write (not in the dumps). :biggrin:Last lot of books and magazines to remove tomorrow - far too hot up in the loft today! $ had a little rise this morning and we started looking at properties in the next 'bracket' just for fun - have now decided we don't want the upkeep of a pool and could manage with 3 beds instead of 4 so plenty of scope! Isn't it getting exciting? Bits of garden furniture keep disappearing round various neightbours gardens and we're loving giving stuff away - can't be bothered with the hastle of EBay - our stuff isn't worth a huge amount.:biglaugh:Just happy to see it go to a good home.

How are you doing? It seems no time ago we were on the bottom of the tracker thinking the day would never come. Can't believe how fast its moving now. Enjoy the journey!

6. Nearly finished emptying the loft and once we get rid of the rubbish and have a good tidy up its time to get a valuation on the house. Next step will be to contact some removals firms for estimates (John Mason, Pickford and PSS probably)
7. Sure you won't have too long to wait. It seems we all have some hiccups along the way. Jane
8. Not worried at all - glad I've got the extra time to maybe lose a couple more kilos and be back to the weight I was this time last year. Still a lot earlier than we originally thought we would need it. Arranged a print out from my doc with note to say that, although overweight, I exercise moderately and have lost a considerable amount of weight - +immunision record - +surgeons report from surgery last year - +details of BP meds and last annual review (blood sugar, cholesterol, urine test etc - (all good) That should cover any slightly 'grey' areas! - may not be necessary but makes me feel more relaxed
9. We picked Maidenhead - easy motorway journey (with alternative routes) and free parking in a nice environment. London is about the same distance but a more stressful journey with several train changes. London may have been a bit quicker but it was more expensive. Bank holidays/Royal wedding/Easter are affecting all clinics (at least a week lost in an already short month)
10. Oh pooh! Having got our case officer early we now have to wait a bit longer to get the medicals done - bad timing with Easter, Bank Holidays and Royal Wedding taking out so many working days! :realmad: Never mind, everything else is on track. It will give me more time to lose a few extra pounds and get the relaxation sessions going to reduce my blood pressure.
11. CONGRATULATIONS Grandma - have a wonderful trip What a happy little thread this is at the moment - so much good news
12. That's our next job Les - once the medicals are done, police checks completed and the money sent. Houses seem to be holding their prices around here and one down our road is up for £50,000 more than our house estimate from 18 months ago - it has similar size rooms but no garage or third reception (bit more glamourous with huge through room where we still have a separate lounge and dining room) We also have room to extend outwards and upwards which they don't. Feeling a little more hopeful provided the £ doesn't slide too much further down through the Summer. Hope your house sells quickly and at a 'good' price Jane
13. Thanks everyone - slept surprisingly well last night but floating on air today and finding it hard to concentrate!:jiggy:Starting to fill out forms for the police check and will phone for medical appointments on Monday morning.
14. Thanks Phoebe Can't quite believe it yet:eek::wacko::yes::spinny:
15. Eeeeeeeeeeeek I know its the 1st April but our agent has just emailed us to say we have a Case Officer - time to arrange AOS, medicals, police checks ..........
16. We live in a semi so not bothered by fencelines too much. I admite that the view from some side windows is less than desirable but they do vary quite a bit depending on the lie of the land too. At least now we have some idea of where we would like to live when the time arrives.
17. That says it all. ....and visiting poms too! We didn't go to any auctions this year but attended several 'opens'. The agents were very helpful and we made it clear it would be some time before we are in a position to buy but just wanted to 'get a feel' of typical Aussie properties in our price range (and see for ourselves how acurate web pictures actually were).
18. Get yourself on www.gainwave.co.uk and you'll get a good idea of the timescale. We're may 2010 too so now expecting a CO by June/July rather than the Sept/Oct we were originally told it would most likely be.
19. London is nearest for us but will probaly use Maidenhead to avoid the BP rising too much when our time comes - free parking and as long as the M4 is OK the journey is not much longer!
20. Good luck with the meds Linday, David and Gill - hope the blood pressure stays OK - not easy to relax on roller coasters is it?
21. I've moved them from my favourites bar to ordinary bookmarks for occasional use. So nice to be back here among old friends This is the place to be - long may it continue! Bye the way, how are you doing Audie any progress yet?
22. Had a special (cheaper) service done and hose was in good nick but replaced filters and belt. The drum has been washed out and all the parts that could be washed have been done. Its not going to be used now and I'll have to use the old Electrolux instead! Hope it passes the test!
23. Found this while searching for a similar answer but couldn't see a reply. Our oldish Dyson is being services today and is still working well - how much cleaning would it require to bring up to standard and how would you go about cleaning tubes?
24. I tried a brief conversation but didn't feel very welcome - the Mods gave some useful comments but others were very unhelpful. Think I'll stay here for a while. Haven't been on for a while and amazed to see more Visas granted and COs coming sooner than I expected.
25. Well done - the time really will pass quickly. I didn't believe it but its true!
