Hopefully the meds will be OK :wacko:and we're pretty sure they'll be asking for the money before 1st July so, as we now have agent's valuations, going to put the house on the market at the end of the week!:goofy: The first agent turned up in his Audi and tried the hard sell for over an hour. The one today came in his mini, answered all our questions and was far more helpful. He made us feel like valued customers not a marketing exercise. Know which one we'll be choosing! PSS coming on Thursday and Masons did us last week - very impressed with them! Juggling's fun isn't it? Nice to see so much activity on here now.:chatterbox: Off to lie down in a darkened room now for a while!

Happy with today's valuations - about what we were expecting. Provided the meds/ results go off at the end of the week without referrals and we get the tracking number we shall put the house on the market before the end of the month and pray we are asked for the final vac before 1st July! sooooo close now - it hurts:twitcy::unsure::spinny::v_SPIN:

Charming doctor at Maidenhead and relaxed consultation - BP behaved and as long as the bloods and X-rays don't show anything untoward, we're another step closer.

http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp download the relevant application form and latest guidelines. Each certificate will cost you about £35 per person for standard service which takes about 10 working days.

http://www.pssremovals.com/ PSS is one of several companies often quoted on here (and the one our daughter used when they emigrated 6 years ago) Sorry, after 18 months I've slipped into the jargon abbreviations - you'll soon get the hang of it!:biglaugh:

Final VAC - can anyone give me a link to the pros and cons of paying in London v credit cards v paying from Australia please? If paying in London " the rate is fixed twice each year on Jan 1 and Jul 1" - what is that currently? Looks like we'll miss that deadline so who knows what it will be after 1st July!

I don't have a laptop (yet) but all the people in front of me in the queue had to take their's out of bags/cases/handluggage and have them scanned separately.

I haven't investigated that one yet but probably you should check with your insurance company. If you continue to pay premiums from a UK bank account it may be OK. Wills, however, should be updated once you come to Australia. I'm sure some one could give us the definitive answer soon!

Dear Audie - We are so sorry that things are not working out for you as planned - you seem to have been treated appalingly. I admire your tenacity and do hope you will have a favourable outcome soon. Thank goodness you have a good CO who seems to be battling hard on your behalf. We are all thinking of you and Catherine.

Another step closer Our daughter has her interview re AoS bond tomorrow and we've now opened an account with Moneycorp ready to part with the $14000! Also started the 'paperwork' for a migrant bank account ready to transfer some dosh over when/if the rate improves. Three weeks till our medical so its back to thumb twiddling again:biggrin: At least the garage, shed and loft are now empty! Planning a few days holiday away and when I return will start to get removal estimates - thanks for all the recent advice and recommendations

Sleepless nights are par for the course I'm afraid. In my case they are caused by making mental to-do lists and being scared I won't remember everything in the morning but too lazy to get out of bed and write it down!

Thank goodness for that - 1 lot of decluttering and loft clearing is enough for 1 lifetime!

We did our form 80 when we lodged our application (may need updating before final payment?) we didn't have any weekend breaks outside the UK but we did include all holidays taken abroad - mostly 5 - 15 days and the longer ones to Australia! Good luck finding all your details! (time to look back through the old photo albums?)
