To be fair, it isn't so much the work, I enjoy hands on again, but its the shifts, earlies, lates and nights, my kids are not used to me doing shifts. for the last 10 years I have worked Mon-Fri 8-5, so they were struggling. Not home when they are going to bed and working weekends. Came for the better life for us all as a family and shifts are killing me. The ward I'm working on doesnt particularly get much private, we have lots of veterans, but is very different to the uk. Applying for jobs with daytime hours to suit my kids. They are my number 1. But good luck with your AHPRA and job hunting. There are loads of jobs advertised all the time. Look at queensland health - public, Ramsay health is the biggest private, you've also got the mater-look on their website. Dont expect AHPRA to sort registration out quickly. If you are looking at next year, get your application in now. We love it here, people are very friendly. Look forward to your new life. Good luck. xx H

Hi there Matey !!!! Any news on that visa yet ????? Well we are here 4 weeks now and settling in nicely. Loving the place. the people, the weather...... Starting work on Monday. Arrggghhhhh....... Kids started school last week and loving it except we had a few tears from littler 1 as she is missing all her toys. Hopefully only a few more weeks b4 the container arrives. We are renting in a place called Pimpama 35 mins south of Brisbane on the Gold Coast, actually bout 20 mins from Surfers. Gorgeous brand new house. Make sure you have surplus money for when u get here. All we seem to be doing is spend, spend, spend. Let us know when you get your visa..

Take care & hope you here real soon.

Hi ya Lisa,

I would say this is evidence of registration in Australia. That's what I had to do for QLD SS. I sent my application to AHPRA and then as proof to Queensland, I sent proof of postage and a copy of my application. This will be fine to get your visa application in, but you will need your registration to get a case officer to process visa app. when the time arises. My advice, get that registration application in now, because they work at snail speed. 5 months now and I am nearly there. This is just holding everything up. We decided to frontload our meds once the SMP came out and they have been finalized, so this all we are waiting on now.

Are you all organised for Christmas. Totally chaotic here. Working right up til 6 pm Christmas eve. Trying to get the house decorated to get it up for sale. Crazy just before Christmas, I know.......

Anyway get that registration in and Have a very Merry Christmas.

Hi ya Laura, i've got a 457 sponsored job at Greenslopes. 176 visa applied for in september. Waiting for queensland SMP. Went through the agency Healthstaff, whom i first made contact with at the expo in September. I've had mixed reviews about greenslopes and going on a 457 but its going to get us out there initially. Still waiting for Ahpra and normally they don't consider you without registration but Greenslopes did on this occasion. because of my sheer brilliance I gather......... HeHeHeHe !!!! LOL My application has been in since August and getting a bit peeved off now. I ring them up every week which is really a complete waste of time, but apparently my application is being assessed. They took my money too back in September. Who knows ?????????

Wow moving in only a couple of weeks. must be all systems go for you. how exciting. I don't even know where to start. Wish you the best of luck. xx
