  1. Used Fox moving in Cwmbran a few years ago and were the cheapest quote we had.
  2. My PR visa expired 23/12/14 so the possible scenario this year would be going over to OZ on visitor visa for job interview/assessments, having already made contact with previous employer. Returning to UK and applying for RRV if offered job. I don't think it would be worth while applying for RRV without a genuine job offer offshore before going for interview, even though I worked for the employer when the original PR visa was granted.
  3. This is the email reply I received from AU Immigration in regards to my query for those who are interested. Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Resident Return visa.If you wish to return to Australia as a permanent resident you should applyfor the Resident Return visa. Please be advised that you are free to lodge your application for theResident Return visa on-line at any time.If your last departure from Australia was as an Australian permanentresident or Australian citizen you must either provide evidence ofsubstantial business, cultural, employment or personal ties of benefit toAustraliaLink to the on-line application:http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/rrv.htmIf you decide to apply for Visitor Visa it will be more difficult for youto apply for the Resident Return visa in future.
  4. thanks all I came up with some of those statements when I did a search. Also sent email to immigration to clarify.
  5. Ok thanks thats great. Probably try the RRV first then. What is the average time waiting for a decision on a RRV overseas?
  6. My permanent resident visa expires end of this year while I am in UK. I did less than 2 years while in OZ but its still less than 5 years since i left. I know what the criteria is for an RRV but am unsure where I stand. If I go to Australia next year for a job interview and I enter as a visitor on an eVisitor visa will I lose my right to apply for a RRV after that if I get offered a job? Or will I be able to get an RRV before the job interview as it was a previous employer. still got a pension there and I was waiting for daughter to complete education in UK. Thanks
  7. You are clearly not living in Wales today, rain and snow already and the weather was the draw to OZ for me. Just dont want them to make an expensive mistake as the hard work and expense was done when they first left. Like I said each to there own as we are all different and thats my opinion and how I feel today, might be different tomorrow.
  8. You need to go back for a visit first to remind yourself why you left then there's the cost of doing that, preferably in the winter when everything is dark, grey and dirty. Also I would consider a job change or a location change rather than move back. These are the things I regret not doing and for the last 3 years I have tortured my family and myself in the UK going on about returning and have the same feelings I thought I had for the UK. On returning it only took a couple of weeks before I realised my mistake but each to there own.
  9. Well done and good luck. Do you have to go country or out of perth to start?
  10. There might be for the next series when I hear back this month. Then again I am a ping pong pom so probably a waste of morning TV.
  11. I thought the girl was a little over the top and irritating at times. After each programme there is an update on the WDU website giving an update on each family. As of December 2013 the family today are staying put in the UK (SUPRISE SUPRISE). Thought they may have changed the format this year but much the same.
  12. HI Janet, had a short break there once and stayed in a lovely apartment in Bargara which is a few miles down the road overlooking the sea. Liked the feel of the place and the surrounding area. Went there as I had chance to transfer with work but not really for me. Its the kind of place you need to visit yourself before you make a decision. Population was what I am probably used to but seemed a little quiet and bit of a drive from Brisbane. Bundaberg is your typical QLD country town, some country bumkins with a nice town feel. I would imagine jobs are based around the rum distillery, farming, sugar cane and tourism. Some of this area can be prone to flooding. I liked it but wife wasnt keen. Depending what you want it may be too quiet. All the best and a few photos of the area.
  13. I agree with the previous posts stand up for your rights and dont sign it over and walk away, seek legal advice if need be. If you are unhappy and want out of the marriage rather than sign the house over for her father to meet the payments which is your wife's idea suggest he buys you out and then you will sign. other than that its selling up and splitting down the middle but I assume you have financial obligations to the kids in OZ as you have in the UK. Is there an OZ equivalent to the CSA as if things get nasty she could hit you in the pocket unless you go back to the UK.
  14. I feel for you mate but it seems you are unhappy with your personal life rather than Australia. I can understand your desire to return to Wales as it was my driving force to return, it can be a friendly close knit place to live with a good community but dont look at it with rose tinted glasses. Only you can make the decision and I guess you have 3 options. Stay where you are, move out and find somewhere in OZ near your kids or return to the UK. Not too sure about the visa issue but even though you are the primary the remainder of the family has PR rights but I am not sure what if you leaving will have on state sponsorship. Trying to take your kids back with you could open up a can of worms. Good luck with your decision.
  15. If you are sure you want to stay in OZ permanently sell it and cut ties with the UK otherwise you will always have one foot in the UK.It will make going back to the UK an easier decision if you have a property, as I did. I found dealing with tenants so far away is an hassle you could do without.
  16. Simmo was correct, both countrys have positives and negatives and when you yearn for what you had and think you need you tend to think of the positives only. I felt like you at the time and the feelings were so strong I made arrangements to come back and lucky for me my wife supported me in this decision as she did when we first migrated, even though she was happy to stay. I was only in OZ for a short time and you have been there since 2007 so you are in a better position to know what you want. Good luck with it all and it sounds like you have a supportive husband. What I will say is that since I came back in 2010 the first year was great as there was so much to do and sort out but that novelty soon wears off. Its like a good holiday, after so long you a ready for home. All those feelings I had to go home to the UK I now have most days wanting to go back to OZ. Thats why people ping back and fore I suppose and thats always an option for you if you ever wanted too, as I want too.
  17. You have lost me you obviously not taken your medication. If you are referring to the bit of British comment I was referring to my picture of a pub which was brought over from England and reconstructed in QLD.
  18. Thanks for like. How is everyone? Mitsubishi Lancer  you will work it out.
  19. Not much of an insight but it did start my real interest in going. Only applied for a laugh and thought my application had been binned. Surprised to get a call and possibly get the next stage, which I assume is filming at home. Probably wont happen as my daughter told them she is not going back and wont be appearing on film. They do like a family drama though especially as we will probably come across like the Royals (the TV programme not the Windsors)
  20. You must be moving in the wrong circles as most of the friends I had were Aussies and would do more for you than my own family. I went to escape the pommies lol
  21. Applied for WDU about 18 months ago and had a phone call yesterday from them asking for information.Thought it was a wind up at first but they spoke to us individually and will get back to us in December if we progress. Could be on the 2015 series as a family of ping pom poms split down the middle.
