  1. It always amazes me that people who only want to hear good things about Oz, go and read the MBTTUK forum and then whinge about "negative vibes'. Don't read it, it is really as simple as that.
  2. It's ridiculously high, is there a breakdown of the cost in your bill like average daily consumption or something like that? It does say on your bill that gas prices increased from July, but even before it was $480 which is still too high for a 3 bedroom house with nobody at home. I wonder how much they charge per unit? Can you find that out?
  3. That is a lot. Have you checked your gas meter?
  4. Wow Dom, soon you will be proudly waving the Aussie flag ... yes??

<p><p>Hey there, sorry I've only just noticed your rep you gave me a while back on the 'is Perth expensive' thread and just wanted to say thanks <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p></p>

<p><p>Actually I've just re-read that post of mine and it made me LOL, I can't exactly say that I'd been drinking too much and that's why I was being mouthy.. ha ha</p></p>

  6. A while back there was a redback in our Xmas tree :wacko: but that was a one-off, I've never seen another one inside the house ever since. I've seen quite few outside in the garden, but it has never got that bad that I had to spray them. I normally give my daughters' outside toys a quick check over before I let her play with them because she's only two, but with older kids you can teach them about the spiders and just make them aware.
  7. I fancied a Baileys, so frigging what? I haven't been out for a drink since my child was born 2 years ago and I also wanted to treat my parents taking them out for a drink as they are here visiting. I don't drink beer and I refuse to pay almost $40 to buy a bottle of Baileys in the bottle shop. I don't whinge, I've come across this thread and added my thoughts on the price of drinks as I have just found it literally only today, is that OK with you?
  8. I've just taken my parents out for a drink, we had a small bottle of beer, a small glass of wine and a tiny Baileys and I paid $27... sorry, but that's outrageous. Just as well we hardly ever go out drinking.
  9. I would have thought that there is no point selling the debt to UK collectors, because legally they cannot enforce it as the credit was taken out under Aus consumer credit law. I might be wrong though.
  10. My Mum and stepdad are landing tomorrow to stay with us for a month :wubclub: We have a lot to celebrate, they will be here for my daughter's 2nd birthday, as well as Mum's birthday, their birthdays are only a couple of days apart. We're planning to take them to many places, we will tour the South West, further inland into York and further North to Moore River, Lancelin, the Pinnacles and maybe even Kalbarri. And as we'll have babysitters  my hubby will teach me kayaking :biglaugh: that will be a laugh.... whilst the grandparents spending precious time with their granddaughter... pure bliss. And if I'm lucky, he might even take me out for a drink :jimlad: Happy Days!
  11. For me, it's 45 min in the morning as I'm just ahead of the rush hour, and about 1 hour on the way back.
  12. How old are your kids? Good luck with the move.

    Got a job!

Great news Emma, I remember how worried you were about finding a job.
  14. Do you mean that one gas fire in your living room heats up all the other rooms in the house as well? We have a relatively small house, have a reverse cycle aircon but it only warms up the living area, by the time I get to the bedroom through the hallway the temperature drops significantly.
  15. Don't be so surprised... there are quite a few of us who are actually independent enough to take charge of our own lives, knuckle down and get on with it. It has absolutely nothing to do with how supportive (or not) someone's family is.
  16. What an amazing opening ceremony, absolutely loved it, I must admit it made me really homesick, I feel kind of left out.. I just want to be there and to be part of it  I was a bit unsure of McCartney though, when he was trying jumping up and down, I thought.... oh god, would someone give him a chair
  17. What happened to your firefighter interview PB?
  18. You are not the only one jennlx. Nobody came to see us either when my daughter was born, although my parents did come later when she was 4 months old. Quite simply, it just wasn't feasible and not because people didn't care. I wouldn't have expected anyone to do the journey and to burden themselves with financial worries just because I had a baby. Even if one of my friends or family members had offered to come out to help I would have still refused, I think it's a lot to ask... personally I'd rather not.
  19. I've got to agree with you Quoll, the thought makes me shudder... my soul would never rest in peace if I was to be buried here. I've told my hubby to send me back in a box if I pop my clogs... lol
  20. <p><p>You'll be missed Kelly, do keep in touch x</p></p>

<p><p>Hey Kelly, is it just you and me who thinks that family left behind and being with them is important? :confused:Everybody else seems to brush it aside.</p></p>

    <p><p>Hope you are well xx</p></p>

  22. <p><p>Are you taking the pi$$ again?</p></p>

  23. <p><p>Try to keep well, but I find it harder and harder (living here) as the time goes on and I really struggle, not sure how long I can keep up with this facade. I just want to go home, unfortunately we're not in the position at the moment to just pack up and go :frown:</p></p>
