Love it! Mum had a house in Darjeeling, the kitchen window had Kanchenjunga in the background. But I was only a baby in those days.

Excellent news, James!! Our regards to you both...And, please, let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the good wishes, but there was no flooding at our little community, only ankle deep in the back yard.

G'day mate, thanks for that. Perth and WA in general, are very poor for freshwater fishing; a few small trout streams around Pemberton and VERY few other freshwater fish. Great barramundi fishing in the far north in the Kimberlies in the Fitzroy and Ord river systems.

Plenty of decent beaches along the coast for tailor, tommy ruff and bream, but too many toados, (blowies) for my liking.

G'day mate, I live near Mackay, Qld, overlooking the southern end of the Whitsundays.

Went back in 1967 for a holiday...Vowed never to do that again!

Used to fish Doe Park for redfin and pike. The fishing here is 1,000 times better! Barramundi and mackerel.

Where do you live and where are you heading for?

Cheers, Bobj.

G'day, been quite soggy here, not to the same extent as Rockhampton, no houses under water, only ankle deep in the gardens. James and Katie are back with us and making plans to head for Brissie.

A very happy and productive New Year to you and your small, but perfect family

Update:

James and Katie were due at our place about 6 pm yesterday but they cannot get through as Ingham is flooded. They decided to go back to Cairns to wait out the floods and they will spend the New Year up there. Katie stats work in Brissie on 24th January.
