Hi my sons a qualified heating engineer back in the UK his certificates are NVQ level 2 and 3 in heating an ventilation would he be able to transfer this over as a plumber to obtain a plumbing license in WA and also how can he go about getting his license? Anybody been in the same situation? Any help would be appreciated thanks

well a bit... although we havent watched tv nowhere near as much as back in the uk, even though we have foxtel, which for the record is all crap........Im a celeb was just one of those programs we all used to like to watch, maybe it was the bushtucker trials we liked...haha ..

hI THERE Wonder if anyone can advice on which is the best university in Perth for my son. He has done his A levels in Uk in Maths, Accountancy & Law, and now wanting to go to uni in Oz, so wondering if anyone can advice which are the better ones for the relevant courses. many thanks

Thanks bob1, my son does excell in maths, but he really would prefer to go to a mixed school, and he isn't that sporty, so maybe seton would be his best bet. It's so hard , not sure I like the sound of all boys school neither, or maybe it's just cos there's not many single sex schools in uk, so not used to them.. How far is seton from Coogee do you know....

Ok here is what I've been told......CBC, seton catholic , Emmanuel & Melville senior high........any comments on any of them please....... Didn't think choosing a school would be so hard......advice welcome......

Hi we have just secured our rental in Coogee, and now wondering about high schools within the area......Our son is 14 and needs to get back started in school. We are staying with friends at the moment whose daughter goes to Leeming SHS, and wondering should i register and start him here before we leave, with school placements being down to the catchment areas, or is there good schools near to coogee.???? Hi, my son recently got a speeding ticket and can either pay the £60 fine and get 3 points or pay £70 and do a course and get no points however there may not be time to do the course as we leave in a little over a week. Does having the 3 points effect his licence over in Australia or not? If not he'll just pay the £60 fine and get the points. Can you help? Thanks!

great post, we have 4 weeks to go, have to be out of house in 2, and still not decided wether to ship furniture or just clothes. spoke to a friend living in perth she said fine to leave everything, she took 40ft container bout 6 years ago, and if she could do it again she would noship her furniture, she only has kettle, toaster from uk that she hasnt replaced......question should we bring our beds and TV's with clothes, or just personal...??? panic is setting in now.....

Just renewed my hubbies passport, last minute we go in 5 weeks, anyhow completed 929 form after talking through on the phone, and got an email (2 dAYS LATER...) Saying all done and visa tagged into passport electronically, no need to show old passport. However he will still carry it so that it is obvious to them that cant see electronically... very quick though and very impresssed with Oz house...

I think the white card is for construction, think it is equivalent to our cscs card...my husband done his on line in uk (we go in august 2012) with a company called aveling. It was really easy, its a multiple choice course, so you cant really fail. You also have so many days to finish the course (i think about 90 days), its around a 4 hour course. We paid debit card (i think around 40-50 pound) and the card was posted to our Uk address, very quickly....good luck

Hi, we have 7 weeks to go to Perth, and today our 18 year old has been stopped for speeding. The police said he will get 3 points and fine, or might have to do a speed awareness course... My question is what do we do, he has only had his license for 12 months this August, but we are panicking that things might not come through before we go, and also what will be the consequences in Oz with 3 points on his license...?? what if they dont request his license before we leave and we cant send the license..???

flied many, many times with them, they are definately one of the best airlines. And Doha Airport is aiming to be one of the biggest in the world. Service is excellent. We have always flown as a big family group and they are very good with children, you will have no complaints.

Hi, We have ours with Scottish widdows, rang the other day and as long as the premiums are being paid it does not matter where you actually live. I did obviously tell them we were moving to Oz, and they said it is not a problem just send new address.
