  1. They know because you will have indicated the visa you are applying for ie 487.
  2. nominating an occupation which does not match with your nominated occupation on your skills assessment which some have inadvertently done. Not declaring information about any previous offences, as above, providing false details or information, not meeting the points test in some way eg not enough work experience post qualification.
  3. it is worth asking for a remark - people on here do this especially when the difference is half a mark it could be worth it especially when he scored highly in the other sections.!
  4. For anyone in the same predicament it is worth asking as today I received an email saying they were not needed. :wubclub:
  5. Thanks guys I knew i would get a response on here faster!!!!
  6. find us here and welcome http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/148264-176-lodged-may-2012-a.html
  7. Done it thanks - just wondered though whilst i am waiting for the reply
  8. Hi I have received a request for the above and it says you should provide them from all countries in which you have lived for 12 months or more. so my question in i spent just under 12 months by 8 days in Oz - I don't mind obtaining them but it seems a hassle if i don't need to I am just wondering if anyone else has been in the same dilemma?
  9. All I can say is that when I worked in the courts the magistrates were not unused to hearing the police had behaved poorly over minor matters and were not not unsympathetic in a professional sense but if you attempt to labor the point and show an anti authoritarian stance they really don't like that either, I agree strongly with the Hoff!
  10. Its alright to upload them now -they will ask for them in the requests they send out to finalize everything anyway!
  11. Thanks Pablo, especially for the advice about on street parking too - do you know if they do Saturdays perhaps as this may be one option dependent on Oh's shifts and if so if they charge extra?
  12. I would email them they will get back to you -it is not the TRA who have the quotas they are just the assessing body and will assess whether or not the occupation has been capped, as I am not an IT specialist I did not go down this route myself- let us know how you get on best of luck
  13. why do you think this? your skill is still on the current list so you can apply but you would need to get your skills assessed! I would suggest go back the trade web page and have another look as this is the assessing body http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/i/ict-customer-support-officer.htm#SKIA http://www.deewr.gov.au/Skills/Programs/SkillsAssess/TRA/Pages/default.aspx and look at the permanent offshore migration info refer to http://www.deewr.gov.au/Skills/Programs/SkillsAssess/TRA/OffshoreAssessment/Documents/OSAPGuidelines.pdf and also refer to http://www.abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/ABS@.NSF/Product+Lookup/1220.0~2006~Chapter~UNIT+GROUP+3131+ICT+Support+Technicians to show which skills/tasks you should evidence in your application. neither is it an off list skill, its on the list! My advice is to slow down and try to understand the process - look at book 6 on Diacs web site with regard to IELTS you have to make a decision as to whether you need extra points as you already have a uk passport, so dont always need to do this test http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-test.pdf if you are getting confused and you cannot find your way through this info to make any sense of the process you may wish to consult a migration agent to help which will cost- if you are trying to beat the deadline when everything changes to skills select and when you will only be able to apply by invitation only then you are cutting things extremely fine! the process is to look at the points test and find out if you can actually meet the points test first and if not decide what you need to do next apply for your skills assessment -you can search this site to find out how long this takes people to obtain book your self in for ielts and sit the test if you need to then apply for state sponsorship with WA if you are willing to wait for the July deadline and will still be able to obtain 65 points without being too old and loosing points etc then you need to look at the skills select
  14. Hi does anyone know if the the panel DR's list on Diac is uptodate? Would have preferred one nearer to home if possible due to work commitments! Also do they ask for permission to have a look at your NHS record or do you have to provide anything extra specifically as i don't know my health number?
  15. there is a cap and WA publish their list each month - if you explore the site further you will find research as to whether there is an ongoing demand for your skill or whether it is flagged to be removed. The cap is relevant to each year so will change again in July as new places are allocated. If WA is the place you want to go for def i would then look at the skills assessing body to see if you can meet their requirements and look at how long it is likely to take!
  16. Hi if I were you I would still launch an application for state sponsorship as soon as your Ielts results are known as there is a chance you will get it before the deadline and be able to apply-the 175 visas are moving fast at the moment but it does make your application stronger with state sponsorship, especially if you are from a HR country. HR country's tend to have a longer wait at all stages because of lots of checks ( just in case you fall into the category be prepared) it may be Victoria that allows you to apply without your result si Don.t know- if you do a search on here for NSW state sponsorship or Victoria you will see what times people are waiting as opposed to what is quoted on the website. *when I first started posting to this forum I did not know forum ettiquette or rules, I now know that posting in capitals is like a form of shouting. I was also intimidated and did not think that anyone had seen my post as there were so many posters and it was all confusing-rest assured Berhe you will get a response and it is usually friendly and helpful - put this one down to a learning experience-welcome!
  17. Hi if you go on diacs web site and look at skills select and points test you will be able to see how you could meet it - if you need points for post qualifying years of experience and are unlikely to get them within your time frame then you could always consider an employer sponsored route!!!!
  18. Tip to the wise- don't put your date of birth on here- The visa wizard is not so helpful it really requires some investigative work on your side. I would also suggest as others have that you look to see if you have a skill which would attract sponsorship from a state - if I were you given the time frame in that things are changing in July I would look at the new Skill select program on Diacs web site. If in the future your relative becomes a permanent resident and you are willing to wait and would still meet the points test then you could be sponsored by them and if you have a skill that is wanted there will be a route to explore. It looks like some choices will need to be made somewhere down the line as i am not sure that you can hold citizenship for more than 2 countries if you apply to OZ.
  19. First impressions on returning, loved the greenery and shopping and friendly people BUT: I have missed the outdoor lifestyle and wearing Sunnies for most of the year! and missed the quietness of Perth and the what did you do this weekend chatter, rather than what did you buy? I actually got used to the lack of Sunday and evening trading actually this made things slow down a whole lot enjoyed my OH having to wear thongs, he took a while!!!!! I have learnt that UK people are more PC (at least to your face - doubt it other wise) and willing to debate anything, in the UK shopping is sadly the lifestyle for most, Aussies are blunter and don't understand friendly sarcasm as much, Aussies are proud of their country and are not afraid to show it and the UK keeps apologizing too much, the Uk economy is totally bankrupt and its leaders bereft of moral integrity Hoping to give Oz another go as it got me hooked more importantly if you want to make the world a better place you can do it in either country!
  20. I would send them an email querying this and saying that you have proof of delivery if you have-I went for a further additional skills reassessment around the same time and have already received it back as successful I got the confirmation email on the 10th of Nov!
  21. congratulations on your successful assessment and good luck with your journey
  22. Congrats Houtomel- was a long wait but worth it!
  23. Great to hear your news! You are not a loud guest, everyone has equal standing- have you joined the 176 -applied in August 11 thread, to post your timeline too? Can't wait to do this myself although it wont be Augusts one! Hurrah for you!!!
  24. On my assessment letter it stipulated the degree I had was highly relevant to the occupation etc so I do not need an advisory letter for that part however with regard to work experience they only assessed 18 months of one occupation not all of the evidence i provided for different roles (12 years worth) so therein lies the rub I have to pay to get them to consider the rest of the employment experience to gain the points needed! I would also add that the employment experience they did assess related to a period of far more than the 18 months that they gave me credit for! Also as to get even the first level of points for employment experience you need to show 3 years eg 5 points then as you can see they have me over a barrel! I suspect that the advisory letter may not actually be needed and you could do the application to DIAC without it as you provide the same proof however as the experts who examine your skills and experience are supposedly at VETASSESS i would prefer this information to be backed up by VETASSESS before I apply given i have read some posts whereby people are said to have received notification from DIAC that they have over emphasized their work experience. In my case my current job title is not the skill I am applying under and neither does it fall into the same unit group (even though it is on the SOL and in the same sub group of ANZSCO) but it does involve using the relevant skills at the relevant level and assessment of this is a complex piece of work which I need to prove. I am feeling quite frustrated as when I got my original successful assessment I was ecstatic and now have met new hurdles and really wanted the VETASSESS era of my visa journey to be over!
  25. Thankyou all, will do Jaffas!, Amy79 I am applying to WA, good luck with the application for sponsorship let us know how you get on!!! clairerichie/Houtomel, although i applied online on 4/3/11 my payment did not actually go through until 28/4/11 which means from the payment date it took 12 weeks! When I applied they had just started to say it would take around 8 weeks! So given some say they have been told it could take even longer I hope this gives some hope as i didn't have grounds for an emergency request to hurry it up.
