  1. Yes but my point is he was bogus so should not have come at all. As I said I am all for asylum as I have first hand experience of working with asylum seekers and their backgrounds of rape, warfare, child abuse is harrowing and outrageous. However, people who come AKA OP and take the Mickey out the system are wrong and thieving from our taxes! Yes people are entitled to apply and might not get asylum - I know of people who completed suicide rather than return when they failed in their asylum bid. But again I would say OP would be fraudulent because they were not truely seeking asylum- what the UV levels were too high in Aus? It's hardly a war-torn country! Carol
  2. Well the OP is obviously an internet troll Re benefits-I would say in the case of bogus asylum seeker- they came to UK under false pretences so basically they took benefits that they were not entitled to because while they were waiting for asylum they are not allowed to work so I am sure they used.... NHS Benefit system gives them next to nothing to live on but it is still tax payer cash Used local amenities - parks etc Used the councils rubbish collection Used libraries or other council properties Used the home office time for bogus claim Used police for checking in as an asylum seeker these things are not free and they are not entitled to use them if they don't pay for them or are not true asylum seeker also loads of charities help out asylum seekers- got housing from a charity probably got furnishing and clothes from charity I'm sure the charities would like to help people in real need - they are skint too! I would like to say that I am pro asylum -if my country went belly up I would like to be able to flee to somewhere safe Also pro migration- obviously lol Carol
  3. Hi I've been to a couple before, you won't need to go to both days and you will be able to talk to people you want to in a couple of hours- queue dependant! not sure where you are in process but people generally available are: shipping companies Bank reps- can usually open bank account there pet carriers a few migration agencies employment agents- usually a big job board some state reps - I spoke to woman from WA gov't at last one cant remember what else! They do little presentations on Aus during the day Carol
  4. Hello I watched undercover boss Australia the other day and it was Veolia - im sure if you google veolia undercover boss Australia you will see it on youTube I am in the process of getting my visa and I am a nurse if your wife wants to ask anything about process (don't know about jobs yet though) get her to PM me. Best of luck Carol
  5. Hi Peter just to hijack your thread- I am in the same boat as you myself and hubby- medicals ok But for some unknown reason his non migrating daughters medical has been referred, A grade with no health condition. Her medical was done on 13th referred on 20th so we have been waiting 6 weeks. My case officer is really nice and emails me back same day and doesn't moan when I call her (team 34 Brisbane) she said her hands are tied and it's just a waiting game. I will send you a private mail so we are connected and I will let you know when we get medical approved I feel your pain I was on the phone crying to my case officer when I found out it was referred because we had planned to move on 12th Aug (my hubby has 3 month notice period) - doesn't look likely that we will move in Aug at all as hubby can't risk putting in notice incase medical approval takes months typed this on my phone sorry for grammar! carol
  6. Hi Not sure where you are in Scotland. I moved down south with J'Pak in Lanarkshire and they were amazing! I have had a quote from them for moving to Aus I'm not sure if it is competitive as they are my first quote! I have White and Co coming out on Friday. I would give them a buzz they are good. I am not sure if I am allowed to put contact details on the post so I will PM you them Carol
  7. Hi this still doesn't equate to a doctorate degree. A doctorate is gained in a period of 3 years plus (unless through publications) it is gained at a specific academic level (in Scotland it is SCQF 12- not sure about other countries). Magna cum laude is your distinction. Unless you studied at doctoral level and have a degree that says doctorate (PhD or Professional Doctorate) you don't have a doctorate You really need to talk to case officer. you are a medical doctor not an academic doctor- different things! carol
  8. Hello Your medical degree is not a doctoral level degree it is a bachelor level degree as your CO has pointed out. If it was a doctoral degree it would say 'doctorate of ??' and not 'degree of ??' You will have over claimed points on EOI because of this. I have recently read on here about others who have over claimed some have been told to withdraw their application while others have been given opportunity to try and make up their shortfall by getting partner assessment. I'd contact your case officer and ask for best way to proceed.
  9. Hi Sorry I don't know what this is... did the NMC send verification of your registration? That is the only thing I could think they mean. Carol
