  1. Yes. Stage 3 needs to be seen alongside Stages 1 and 2, not in isolation. Best regards.
  2. The likelihood of interest rates coming down has diminished as a result of the re-writing of the tax cuts. Added to which many will be paying more tax over the next few years due to bracket creep. The chances of Albo getting the next election win - or even being PM at the time of the election - have reduced markedly. Not a good move politically or economically. Onwards!
  3. Notably, almost 28,000 applications for Contributory Parent visas were lodged in calendar year 2023, which represents some 4 years of CP visa grants based on the usual number. Expectations of the withdrawal of CP visas is likely driving this surge in demand; a normal year would see 10,000 to 12,000 CP visa applications being submitted. Best regards.
  4. We have received up to date information from the Department of Home Affairs regarding the number of Contributory Parent visa applications that are in the system. These have been entered into the database on our website, and can be used to estimate CP visa application processing times here: https://www.gm-parent-visas.com/visa-processing-time.../ A reasonable expectation presently is some 7,000 CP visas being granted annually. Best regards.
  5. Thanks for the kind recommendations - is appreciated. Best regards.
  6. I doubt those who have been refused a visa are letting it be known on a forum ... Best regards.
  7. How do you know what evidence to gather? How many partner visa applications have you lodged previously? Lodging with the support of an experienced advisor improves the likelihood of getting it right and securing the visa outcome you want, in the timeline that suits your circumstances (eg if you want to migrate to Australia by a date in the not too distant future). Onwards!
  8. Yes, I can. Me! Feel able to send an email. Best regards.
  9. I'd apply offshore. Here are some examples of processing times for partner visa clients of ours who are ex-UK: Hope this helps.
  10. The answer to this question is No. Good luck! Best regards.
  11. When moving larger sums - such as from a house sale - I recommend dealing with a forex company that has a private client desk so you can speak with someone. Please ping a message to me if you would like a couple of names and their contact details. Best regards.
  12. Queue date confusion - mystery solved ... perhaps ... https://www.gm-parent-visas.com/queuing-confusion-subclass-143-contributory-parent-visa-applications/ Best regards.

  14. Agreed! We've seen a batch of applications for clients with revised queue dates that are now the visa application date. Which is a change of approach. I think an email to the Department in Canberra will be in order ... Best regards.
  15. Consider the possibility of being tax resident in Australia and the UK under their domestic tax laws - which means you then need to look at Article 4 of the UK-Aus tax treaty. Not for the faint hearted! Feel able to contact me if you would like to have an initial freebie chat. Best regards.
  16. You are in the queue awaiting processing of your application ... Best regards.
  17. This is not correct. I recommend communicating with your migration agent, or the PVC directly if you don't have one. Best regards.
  18. What queue date have you been allocated please? Best regards.
  19. "All Contributory Parent visa applications lodged before 1 June 2018 have been given a queue date of the application lodgement date and applications lodged on or after 1 June 2018 will be assessed and given a queue date when it meets the initial visa criteria." It is all there on the Department's website ... Best regards.
  20. I think there is a misunderstanding as to the operation of queue dates. See the commentary here: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/family-visa-processing-priorities/parent-visas-queue-release-dates Best regards.

  22. Not sure whether to laugh or cry at these comments ... Onwards!
  23. https://www.gm-parent-visas.com/visa-processing-time-calculator/ The latest contributory parent visa dataset has now been added to the processing time calculator on our website ... Best regards.
