  1. Hi I was wondering if anybody had any experience of including a dependent on a CPV specifically one who is over 18 yrs old. My brother is currently 22 yrs old and still lives with my mum. He currently works full time but is thinking of going back into full time education. From what I have read a dependent that is over 18yrs old has to be financially dependent on their parents for food shelter clothing etc and I was just wondering if anybody had gone through this and included a dependent on their visa and whether my brother would come under this definition.....I'm presuming he wouldn't while he is working full time even though he still lives at home and does not contribute to live there.... but would going back into education then mean he could be included as a 'dependent' and is there any age limit to this? Thanks in advance to anybody who has any thoughts on this.
  2. Hi Cam We came to the UK Dec 11 for a 5 week holiday with our 6 month old daughter (who only had AUS passport) and actually all entered on our AUS passports (I showed passport control both UK and AUS passports and they said we could enter on either(as there for a holiday), so purely for the stamp we all entered on AUS passports :-) ) We then applied for my daughters UK passport and renewed my OH's while we were in the UK and actually drove to Newport to get my daughters, really down to the cost of them as they are sooooo much cheaper to get while in the UK. We ended up moving back to the UK the following July so then all left AUS on AUS passports and entered UK on UK passports. If I was you I would apply when in the UK and if you have to, take a nice holiday to somewhere in Europe and then enter back into the UK on your UK passports. That should sort out any visa issues with the little one.
  3. I've read a couple of people mentioning lately about people going to the UK to live permenantly and not being able to get NHS care immediately upon their return to the UK. This struck a cord with me as we are returning in July after being away for 5 1/2 years and I will be 5 months pregnant on our return, so I did a bit of googling and found this link to the citizen advice bureau about NHS heath care which I thought was quite informative and might clear up some of the confusion. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/nireland/healthcare_ni/healthcare_help_with_health_costs_e/nhs_charges_for_people_from_abroad.htm It appears we will be intitled to NHS care immediately providing we are returning to live permenantly but will probably have to prove that is the case as we haven't lived in the UK for the past 12 mths. It does say however that GP's do not have to take you on as a patient, but this seemed to be the case when we lived there before but moved to a new area, it was hard to find a GP. It does seem some people have had issues with this though. Phew, thats another worry off my mind!! (I hope!)
  4. When you going - Mid July Where you returning to - The Cotswolds (Cirencester) to start with, but could end up anywhere, depending on OH job How long you been in Australia - 5 1/2 years, time to settle down now we have our own little family and another on the way Have thoroughly loved Australia, but we want to live and bring up our family in the UK so time to go home and be back with family and friends. 13 weeks to go (so my mum tells me this morning :cute: ) mmmmm now where do I start.........
