Seaford

Seaford is a suburb located in Melbourne. It is situated 36 kilometres south east of Melbourne’s central business district. The local government area is the City of Frankston. As of the 2011 census the population of Seaford had a population of 16,033.

There is plenty to see and do in Seaford. There are several public park spaces including three with barbeque facilities and playground equipment.  The Seaford Foreshore Reserve is a must to see.  Seaford is well known for the reserve. It divides the beach from Nepean Highway along the whole length of the suburb. It is on a 50 hectare strip of beach and native parkland. It offers a great dog friendly coastal bushland walk parallel to Seaford beach. There is a 7 kilometre of coastal walkway.

Keast Park is another must do. An award winning 2.5 hectare public park. It is situated on the northern east of the Seaford Shore on Port Phillip Bay. It was designed in 2004. The park offer a broad range of functions including the Carrum Bowls Club, the sea scouts, public toilets and change facilities, a multi purpose community space and a small café. 

Take the kids out to explore and learn a thing or two. Seaford Wetlands is a 305 hectare nature reserve. The wetlands are home to a wide variety of bird life, including a number of rare and endangered migratory species protected by international agreements. The centre is recognised for its prolific and various bird life. There have been around 130 different species observed there in recent years. Ducks, swans, rails and pelican are the more common species. The kids will definitely thank you for this experience. 

If you are trying to decide on a good school there are a couple of options. Some of the most well known and popular primary schools include Kananook Primary School, Belvedere Park Primary School, Seaford Primary School, Seaford North Primary School, Seaford Park Primary School and St Anne's Catholic Primary School. Seaford is also home to a secondary school as well, Patterson River Secondary School is located in the north of the suburb. There is John Paul College, Frankston High School.

Both bus and trains are serviced in Seaford. There are two railway stations within the suburb, Seaford and Kananook on the Frankston railway line.

When it comes to shopping, the big shopping complex is not big in Seaford many they do not have a major centre. The major ones are situated in outer suburbs like Frankston which are not far from Seaford. There are many small shops like IGA, bookstores.

Seaford is small in the sense that it is not a big suburb and not a main suburb, but it definitely is a great place to live situated in a beautiful environment.
