The City of Darebin is located in Melbourne Victoria and covers approximately 53 square kilometres of area .It is about 5-15 km north from Melbourne’s CBD. 

 

The council comprises of the following three wards; Cazaly, Rucker and Latrobe. The City of Darebin consists of 9 councillors.

History

The original occupants of this are were the Wurundjeri -Willam Aboriginals.

The City of Darebin was established in 1994 by the union of previous cities of Northcote and Preston.

According to the 2016 Census, the population of The City of Darebin was at 146,719. 51.7% make up of female population and 48.3% of male population. 0.8% of the population comprised of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The median age as at the census was 36.
