Smith Tribe
:nah:Hi all at PIO. Just want to pick your brains regarding case officers. We have had our acknowledgment on the 17/8/07 and have sent meds and PC's to Australia on the 20/8/07. we sent our meds etc without a case officer just a file ref number, we thought by the time we had a CO they would have everything they needed. People around our timescale seem to be getting their CO's now. Does that mean we would still be notified when we are allocated a CO, or could the CO just look at our file, meds and all and then decide there and then and just let us know the verdict?? Not sure and very confused, frustrated etc etc etc Ta very much PIO chums l know someone will have some idea:arghh: They say good things come to those who wait, So hurry Up !!! Guest mandy m
Hi Smyth tribe we got our ack on the 12 sept and our Sydney based agent told us we are looking at 8-10 mths before the final decision is made. as far as im aware once you front load your meds etc your case officer only gets in contact with you if there is a problem or to grant your visa. We were hoping to be out of Ireland by nov or dec but the way things are looking it will be next year! (skilled 136 visa) we have our house sold and are ready to go now! yet another rich and homeless family!!!!!!!!!! Mandy M
becky c
Hi Bruce and Jackie, (and everyone else on this thread!) Looks like your about a month behind us, ourapplication went on 23rd March, we got a CO the first week in August who requested meds and police checks, Hope that gives you some idea, the main delay for people at the same stage as us seems to be the backlog processing meds at LCU, Waiting............... ali
This is a while ago (and we didn't front load meds) but when we got acknowledgement it said on the bottom the approximate wait for processing which in our case was 4 - 5 months, we anticipated getting meds and PC's at the 5 month mark but got a CO after 4.5 asking us to get them done. Does the acknowledgement letter still tell you the approximate wait for processing - as this is generally a good indication of when you'll get your CO Ali
calNgary
As Ali said ''a long time ago'' but we didnt get notification of a case officer and ive heard of others who havnt. After submitting meds & police checks the first we heard was the golden email saying the visa was granted.Hope this stops you worrying a little and fingers crossed they dont keep you waiting much longer,, Cal x

Guest Julie&Ricky
Hi Guys we are in the same boat acknowledged and meds sent off in June and still no news!! Our Agent has told us that we will not be told that we have a CO the next thing we will hear is whether the visa has been granted. It's really frustrating but hey no news is good news!! Our house has been on the market since April and still no takers but it will go eventually just trying to think positive otherwise we will go insane. One thing that we have got to look forward to is a fleeting visit to Perth in 4 weeks time to have a look around and to make sure that we have made the right decision (never been to Oz before). Me & hubby are leaving the kids (worried about leaving them though) with the in-laws and just going for week! Good luck to you all hope you hear soon. becky c
Hi Jackie, we're heading to South Australia, where we live will depend on where we can get work, we don't particularly want to live in Adelaide itself, but don't want to be too far from everything for the kids sake's really. In a nutshell, we want it all, near the beach, near good schools, good jobs close by but not in a big town or city! Thing we'll get it? LOL.
