They had promised to fast track it as I had a job offer with a large employer and they were true to their word! Thanks to everyone who has helped us so far, in particular Magsincanberra, this site is like a haven for the emigrating insane! Here is our timeline to date: VETASSESS (advertising specialist) submitted: 7th January 2011; IELTS 15th January 2011 S9 R8.5 W9 L9 Overall score: 9; Positive skills assessment: 22nd March 2011; March 2011 appointed migration agent (just to help relieve the stress!) CV verification e-mail sent to ACT: 26th March 2011; CV Verified 28th March (with promise to fast track SS application due to job offer) SS application lodged 7th April; SS application received 13th April; SS granted 18th May 2011. Now its time to submit the 176 application! Fingers crossed! Also, not sure if I'm allowed to plug them but can I just say that so far our agent Ian Harrop and his team have been amazing. We actually fly out at the end of June on a 457 visa but hoping that the rate they 176's are going at the minute we might possibly have the permanent visa before then!
