Long ago when I joined the forum, reviewing the HR applicant thread where intially it was itskamran who posted his grant. Then it was others posting their grants after grants, I thought when would I post a message like this. It was supposed to be posted yesterday but today I can say that by the grace of Allah I got my grant yesterday(Feb 7, 2014) in morning.

Thanks to all the friends over here on the forum, who shared and cooperated with each other. and most of all guided and are guiding each other. Especially SMShoaib for maintaining the spreadsheet and posting analysis every month. Thanks to all.

Congrats bro...wish you luck for your upcoming steps...

Hey there any one who has taken Cathay/Qantas itinery ? How you rate it ? I am planning to go for validation with my family ....

Hey Nosferatsu good to c

These days Cathay is offering some special rates...you can check on their website...it is cheap as compare to actual rates.

Cathay/Qantas special rates are not on the website. You have to call or visit them at their Karachi office.

Yes you are right. From Karachi, its not that feasible but is appropriate from Dubai in terms of less transit time that is , we can have minimum 3-4 hours transit time if we are flying from dubai . It allows 25 Kg baggage

For Cathay we can get the rates on web site. Check cathaypacific.com

I can see PKR54,020.00 round trip Karachi - Sydney

The price you are quoting is without taxes and surcharges. If you proceed further to the booking on the website, you will get the final price you have to pay. That is PKR 120,915/- (see screenshot)

However, I got my tickets from Qantas Karachi Office for Rs 44,630/- (Karachi to Sydney - One way)

Karachi to Bangkok - Cathay Pacific

Bangkok to Sydney - Qantas

Guys, i feel if you are flying from Lahore than thai it tickets thru IOM are not a bad option.

If you are OK with longer transits and 2,3 transfers from Lahore than Cathy is a cheap option. The rate comparison is almost half but comes with the downfalls of very less allowed baggage. 23kg is actually nothing if you have a few suites or jackets and a couple of shoes. IOM gives 40kg weight option which is good and only 2 transits, if I am not mistaken.

So all depends on individual preferences here I reckon. Suggestions are welcome though.

As per my working If you go with Cathay full trip then long transit like 10 to 16 hrs .. Else if you travel from Khi to Bangkok with cathay transit time is 6 hrs which I think is bearable as if flight gets late one can catch the next flight of QANTAS easily..
