claireg
Hi, I have been requested to submit Meds, Police Checks and form 80. How long does it take to sort out police checks? I'm trying to time this right. I have booked meds for next week. Say we submit all 3 by end of December, does anyone know roughly how long we have to validate once Visa is granted? I'm sure I've seen a couple say they had a month?! Thanks, Mike. if you are in the uk the police checks are supposed to take 10 days for standard service plus postage days. So I would allow for 2 weeks. Regards Claire

This was standard service. No case officer for us yet, decided to front load. Anxiously waiting for QLD SMP....... :xmas3::santatrumpet::xmas3:
Fashionably Late
We sent our police checks off over 2 weeks ago and haven't had them back. There was an issue with my hubby's request (I stupidly forgot his passport page) and they said to expect them around the 16th, which would be almost a month. clickettuk
Just noticed on the letter from our Case Officer that it mentions we have applied for a 175. This letter refers to your application for a Skilled (Migrant) (class VE) visa, which was lodged electronically on XXX. You have indicated on your application that you wish to be considered for the grant of a Skilled - Independent (subclass 175) visa. Does this mean when our visa comes it will be a 175, even though we converted to a 176 earlier this year???

Guest mackdmello
Hi clickettuk, the same with us as well, when we received the letter from CO for document request, he mentioned the same format as ur's , visa 175, but actually it shld be 176. the reason behind it is when we initially submitted our application we submitted for 175 and then switched to state sponsored category(ie 176). if we get 175 it will be good but let's see, what we get. No matter what class as long as we get the visa. Regards Macklon Dmello

We saw this happen quite a bit last year - if I remember correctly someone said that it is left to the discretion of the CO. A lot of people originally applying for the 175 and later converting to the 176 receieved a 175 Visa. Hope you guys get what you started with... Does that mean we should kick you off this thread ? :biglaugh::wink: VickyMel
