wishfulthinking
How long did it take you to get things organised once you had arrived in oz. Like choosing an area, putting kids into schools and starting a new job. Just wondering? Natalie.
Pozz
I was fortunate to have a job to come out to (start tomorrow), and a car. No kids, so no schools, and work provided a house (very grateful to my new employer). The other things like, TFN, bank account, police check (for work), I did in half a day. PommyPaul
thats a hard question, must admit i can't give you the answer as i'm a single dude so what i can do is so much different to a family that has to have some stability.... for me australia itself i was settled in within a few months then after about a year it felt like home. Guest guest30038
Came blind..................no research other than knowing we wanted to be in Brizzy.............found a rental within 3 days, a job (wife) within another 3 days, Kindie within the week for the rug rats. It's harder nowadays though. kev
dufont
We found a rental within 2 weeks and once that was sorted we could enrol our daughter in school and she started a couple of days later. I reckon children settle in quicker once they have a routine so we wanted her to start school asap
