jasper Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 I applied both 485 and 885 visas. My CO says my 485 is ready to be finalized but I need to be in Australia ( im overseas at the moment). I thought I could have 485 granted while being overseas (application approved and pre-grant letter issued). But I cannot go back to Australia soon enough. I think you should speak to the Australia Consulate in your country and explain that you need the visa to be granted outside of Australia. The CO responded to my query about 885 and mentioned that i need to be in Aus for my 485. Although I switched to Cat 2 in March (NSW SS) it appears that DIAC haven't received my Form 1100 so I've been processed on Priority 3 timelines - my 176 was lodged on 14 Oct 2010.
