cornish78 Posted February 2, 2010 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Hi all This is my first post. I think the forum is great! My partner and I are in the very early stages of looking to move to Oz. We can't really afford an agent so I've been doing lots of research to try and do it ourselves. We're just in the process of completing the skills assesment to ACS for his job in Network Security (on MODL). I'm just wondering if anyone else has done it alone and if they can offer any advice around the amount of detail etc required for the written explanation to go with the resume? cornish78 Posted February 21, 2010 Author Share Posted February 21, 2010 I just supplied references but made sure they emphasised points relevant to my occupation. I actually wrote out the references for my previous employers as a template, they made corrections/alterations/additions as necessary before they sent it back. It worked quite well - I found that most previous employers aren't keen on doing the hard graft on a reference for you or can't remember who you are! I did online and they asked for paper anyway :confused: We did online and then sent all the certified docs off today. Apparantly by doing it online it just fills in the details to save them having to do it! Good luck with yours- what specialism are you going for?
