We've been back a week now so i'll start at the beginning...............................

We moved to Melbourne mid October we had a hard time to begin with, we struggled with our money getting lost and finding a rental etc.

Although we would have come home at four weeks due to being homesick but that is a normal feeling to have.

We started to settle down a bit was looking forward to 2010 and what we could do, we decided we were putting to much pressure on ourselves by looking at it as a life move so we were going to take it a year at a time, the kids were loving it so that helped.

But then I found a lump in my breast so went to the doctor and within a week i was diagonised with cancer it was such a huge blow to us all, I was informed that i needed a masestomey the rest of the information was a blur.

The hospital care was amazing but we knew with the op and then chemo that we needed to be where we had a support from friends and family so we decided to come back.

We arrived back last week.

It was a shock feeling the cold and having snow but it does feel like christmas, it was lovely seeing our family and friends. It was great to go back to Tesco's for all the traditional christmas bits........how sad!!!!!!

I know i've got a real fight next year and our dream of a new life has not worked out as planned but thats life........nothing is gauranteed.

So i'd like to say a big thanks to everyone we met in Oz, we were very blessed with the people we met and we miss you lots.

Merry Christmas everyone and have a good 2010

Oh Jackie, what a terrible shock - life really does throw some curve balls at you when you least expect it, doesn't it?

I hope you are able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas with your family and take that strong spirit that you obviously have into the coming year to deal with what's ahead.

Take care and keep us updated.:wubclub:

You made the right choice to be back with your family, that is who you need at times like this. Someone familiar to laugh, cry and be downright P****d off with. Australia will wait, in the meantime I wish you all the very best in the fight against this illness.

kindest regards

Jackie hopefully your family will be a great strength for you and your treatment will be swift. My best friend has had 3 ops this year for Breast Cancer and is half way through chemo. Next year when she has got over this she is having reconstruction surgery, and her outlook is very good.

Best wishes and good luck with it all.

PIO is a great help, had a appointment at the Royal Marsden today and it went as well as you'd expect.

But we are always trying to keep laughing and smiling which is a great stress relief :biglaugh:
