Hello Friends,

It is awful that agents could be so careless:arghh:. So, even if you appoint any agent to act on behalf of you, kindly keep in touch with them and ask for updates from them.

Those who are really lucky got their SS. What a relief from them. But when we are gng to get result????????. But I wish all of us get SS soon and can all meet in Victoria

Applied July 3rd (It - Java Specialist). I am now offically in the 12th week!!!! So much for up to 8 weeks! Oyyyy

I emailed them last week and had the response: "Your application is currently being assessed at our Industry Panel and we will contact you to advise you of the outcome as soon as a decision has been made."

Senorita, Koroleva & Vinnie

I have edited the first page details to include a line for expected departure date as well.

With all the stresses of all this we may be a very twitchy :twitcy: group of people meeting up.

Hi Grant

Glad to have you in the tread.

That daily opening of the emails only to see nothing has arrived yet is awful.

Hopefully we will have a big batch of positive responses soon (and looks like a fair number of IT folks so maybe they will get around to you soon).

I have added you to the first page hope that is OK?

Dear Kerry and All applying to VIC SS,

Please note that SS Tracking number/ Reference number is MANDATORY! Unless you receive your tracking number and acknowledgment email, your SS will NOT be processed. Another friend of mine received a reply from VIC today (after 3 months of waiting) that his application was NOT FOUND and has to redo the whole process again. And yea, he too didnt have a reference number for VIC SS.

Normally one receives ackowledgment email and SS tracking number within 6 to 10 working days after submitting an online application/email. If you didnt receive acknowledgement email by then, you will have to follow up with VIC.

So, please bear this in mind!

Good luck to all ... and keep praying to almighty ...!

I don't know (not using an agent), but would have thought that using a tracking number would be the most efficient way for Victoria to keep track of their applications whether they used an agent of not. I imagine they use them to filter emails automatically etc.

The Cot's used an agent - see their post (#124) in this thread

...we used and agent and were not able to access online tracking although yes, like everyone else we did get a reference number as soon as the application was lodged with Victoria ...

If your agent says they don't have a tracking number maybe ask them to send you a copy of the acknowledgement from Victoria that they have received your application - just for peace of mind.

Found out this morning that this is exactly what happend with me! They have lost the application I started in April !!!!:arghh:

Agent told me they had talked to VIC and they said need to reapply stating the fact that it has been lost in the system. This will hopefully push me to the front. They've to call VIC on Friday for an update

Trying to stay positive at the mo. At least the problem has been recognised:nah:

I'll be on there case from now on though

Thanks for keeping us updated ScottishSteve - how awful I hope that they can fast track you now and the update on Friday is positive!

KerryCraig I think VIC can sometimes take a week or so before the acknowledgement letter comes back - I think you applied about a week ago so maybe your agent may not have not got that yet - it would include the tracking number? But it sounds as if there have been a few computer blips so well worth chasing up early rather than later.

Exactly the same here (apart from I applied 2 days earlier & different IT specialism), also got the same response as you when I queried this week. I count it as 10 weeks on Thurs 17/09 since ack and am trying to view it as I'd rather have a slow +ve than a quick -ve :GEEK:. I must admit I'll be unhappy if my app is rejected after waiting this long but sponsorship costs nothing and is theirs to give as they see fit. There's a good few of us of differing professions waiting ATM.

Looking on the bright side, all this time my 175 is inching its way up the queue.

Hey Vinnie, yeah we will all have to have a meet up here in Vic :-) Im going to stay living in Port Melbourne I have a lease till next year, I love it here beside the beach. I finish up my current job next wed and fly home that night fingers crossed my visa will be granted in time for my return flight back here at the end of Oct! Have you thought about where you would like to live in Vic?

i think ur visa will be approved by october... i saw the pattern of other forumers, roughly 2 to 3 months after they got their ss, their visa is approved.

I am planning to stay in the deer park...both my hubby and i loved the place... we're going to perth to visit our uncle next year january, if our visa is approved by then, we'll take another flight from perth to validate our entry in melbourne... unfortunately, i'm still awaiting results from vic ss... i am hoping that they will approve by this month... so that i can submit my 176 visa asap... and hopefully 2 months from that, visa will be approved... :)

Congratulations Eva!!!

I have turned you to blue on the first page.

That's a relief at least you know before you go back to Ireland so you don't need to decide what to do with your things.

Vinnie - In case of interest I don't think you have to enter the state of Victoria to validate the visa just somewhere in Australia so your visit to Perth should be sufficient?

Vinnie I would love to oblige! But we also have not heard yet :(

Hopefully our industrial panel will be soon...

Just an update of sorts - still nothing back from Vic but today my 175 application status has changed to "Application being processed further" - my agent says that this means a C.O. has at least looked at my file, don't think this is the same as having a C.O. assigned though. Agent now advises to do PCC and meds "soon".

Will keep you all updated...

That's great news Freebo - either of the visas would be great!

I suppose the 175 would be preferable as it does not limit you to living and working in the state for 2 years which is potentially useful to have in case you find you need this later down the line. If you have a CO maybe they will keep you with 175 even if the SS is approved.

Good luck hope you hear more very soon!

I wish it meant we have a C.O. but it seems unlikely this soon (we can dream I suppose :daydreaming:).

If someone has opened it and looked at it to push the button for the next stage at least it is moving - seems a waste of time to open and look and then do nothing (Hey but who knows...). Fingers crossed for you to hear more soon.
