Nowt here yet. :-( Neither me or the missus - I know a few folk who have recieved the handout.

What are you doing with it?

The general concensus from the folk I know it its going to be saved for a rainy day or put in the "just in case" fund should things go to poo.

I wonder why people expect something for nothing from the government.

If I had my way only Australian citizens would receive the bonus ,that might give some

people an incentive to become citizens.

I agree with you on your 1st point, as for your 2nd as long as the non Australian citizens are paying tax into Australia and wont be sending it home (where ever that may be) I personally don't see a problem with it

All the best

No, I have never had anything! You lot don't know how lucky you are with all the gov. handouts you get. I was widowed at 46, 4 children, tho' not all were dependent, husband self employed, so little insurance,as mainly super. Would have got something if I had sat on my backside and put my hand out but couldn't do that.

Good on you Ellie,I'm the same, been in Australia 44 years and never once claimed anything from the government, actually I am moving to the UK shortly and I have heard that over there I won't have to pay for my diabetes supplies like needles etc or my medication, whereas here in Australia I have to pay about $60.00 a month.

Maybe the UK system will benefit me more than the Australian one !
